yeah, she explained that the stars were all last minute additions and she decided to cap it once they joined, given that she's the sole organizer and didn't want the list ballooning any further
anyway, so idol's new pickups are punkalopi (friend of rin penrose, now with the new identity enya ignis— lopi was actually one of the sponsored watchalong streamers and just raided into her own debut after five minutes lol), shabel tonya (formerly of KR agency LITMEDIA before she went indie), and chikafuji lisa (formerly of tsunderia before they dissolved)
unsure if enya will continue to stream as punkalopi as well, though the latter two joined as their existing identities with their channels intact, but got brand new outfits
She did mention that they also changed the schedule last minute. So wouldn't be surprised if that nixed attendance for any of the Hololive girls that did want to participate, same deal with VShojo or anyone else that just had a busy schedule this month.
Other thing to keep in mind is that just like with how viewers will sometimes opt to pass up on their favorite vtuber because they can't stand the game being streamed. You can get a similar thing with vtubers where they might really want to collab with someone, but there are games that will be a deal breaker. It's possible I missed it because I think I had a bunch of IRL BS crop up when Wrestlemania was released, but I don't think many of them really showed too much interest in the game. Hell, trying to remember if many in VShojo showed much interest. Though for Hololive I want on the EN side, Gura was the one that did the most with it and well last minute schedule change was probably what nixed things, if she even had time for it to begin with and was asked.
Hell, can't remember how long this has been planned, but given the timeline, I would say less than three months. So not nearly enough time to work in people that have the busy schedules. I know she said she wanted to do more event like this, so we'll see how things look in the future. I imagine, that if any of this ends up becoming an annual thing that reliably happens, and has more than one person handling things, you'll start to see more people show up for things they want to do.
Definitely, can't really read much into this. I'd say the only big thing is that Cover apparently isn't going to care if Anycolor pitches a fit over Holostar talents collabing with Dokibird. This like does mean we'll probably see some of the Hololive talents collabing with her in the future because I don't see how a Dokibird and Mummei collab won't happen after this point (main thing is probably scheduling it).
Interest in the game doesn't really matter in this case, because no one plays it in the event. It's more about putting on a show cutting a promo against whoever you're faced against and then reacting appropriately to however the CPU battle turns out.
All participants are expected to be present at the event and act as if they were the ones wrestling despite not controlling the gameplay, so only people who want to sign up for that and who can make it both days of the event for however long it'll be each day are gonna participate. So given what we know about the HoloEN talents, I don't understand why anyone who's been paying attention would be surprised by none of them wanting or being able to participate in this particular event.
Pretty sure with the vast majority of games that don't get streamed when permissions are granted, comes down to the talents not being interested in the game period. I'm sure there is the occasional game where perms are granted and it gets passed up because the talents think it won't be a good stream as a result of their level of skill, frustration with the controls or not be great as a non-collab. Wrestlemania from what I understand is not such a game. If someone passed it up or didn't do much with it when it was a big thing, it's a result of them not being interested.
They could have done the whole, have the computer handle the games and do the whole hammed up RPing without a collab. If people really wanted to do this, they could have done small collabs, if they felt the experience would have been better that way, if it was something they wanted to do.
Thing is there just wasn't that much interest in this particularly game. There is no "Oh, secret drama!" Hell to be honest, given that Ninjisanji did a big branch thing with this game. I wouldn't be surprised if some of Doki's old coworkers opted out of this because their experience with their last employer, has soured their impression of Wrestlemania.
Both can be true. There was a ton of interest, that she had to turn people down, while the members of some agencies were mostly not interested in doing anything with WrestleMania or there were schedule conflicts.
Opty's statement more or less confirmed that I wasn't misremembering things. WrestleMania wasn't that big with Hololive EN, ergo this event wasn't going to magically make anyone that wasn't interested in it, suddenly interested in doing the event. I mean for FFS Doki flat out said she was going to try to do more events and might always have stuff in the works for those because she gets people are busy. So if someone hates wrestling, they is zero fucking need for them to force themselves into doing something they aren't wild about, just to do a major collab event with Doki. Just wait a bit for an event they find more enjoyable to come up. I mean, the ones I think did the most with this game are the ones that seem to have the busiest schedules.
I'd put good money that she probably had to turn down a shit ton of indies though. I'm a bit surprised that seven members of Holostars are participating and have to wonder if some of them are filling in slots that someone from Hololive might have filled. Don't know enough about EX Prism, to know what the deal is. Also possible that she opted to have X slots for indies and X slots for agency tied talents (Hell, wondering if the schedule hadn't changed, if we would have seen less Holostars, since they were last minute and might have just filled in any of the slots that ended up vacant).
Let's also not forget that this is a mixed gender event, even if all the NPC wrestlers have to be dudes. So anyone that makes it a point to not collab with the other gender, wasn't going to be participating in this event.
Holostars were last minute cause they had to convince management to let them do it and once they were in Doki was over the initial cap she had set and had to close it before it gets even bigger.

welp, bonnivier is graduating effective may 26, he's elected to not have a graduation stream
kinda expected given the state of niji and bobon's long periods of inactivity but still sad to see ex-ID continuing to dwindle away
i don't know if he's planning to continue vtubing but now he can play with doki again at least
in better news, as part of bae's outfit reveal she did a vertical karaoke that turned into an impromptu push for 900k endurance (she'd started the day at 893k, dang)
it was unarchived but she was recording the stream on her end so she can rebroadcast it later

That message from Bobon is weirdly worrisome, but I assume it's just overly dramatic. I did like that guy a lot, hope whatever's going on in his life is fine
That's another of Hana Macchia's friends disappearing! Still nothing but respect for her refusing to quit, but it's gotta sting
Not really surprised about Bobon, his last solo stream was end of June and since then it was whatever Apex tournament Selen dragged him into and a collab with ID members for Mika's graduation. To me the message reads more like find me on my old channel which I am guessing is where he has been streaming on for the past 10 or so months.
Niji EN actually has a few decent things going on. Various neglected members are getting new outfits, there's an EN 3D concert announced, and they're doing new songs every month with mixed members (that management BETTER be paying all the costs for). It's just that I'm totally unwilling to support them as a group entity any longer, I only keep an eye on the members I continue to have some fondness for (Rosemi, Vivi).
I believe she has done some stuff, but they are always careful to keep things controlled in chat. I'm curious if at some point Anycolor is going to sacrifice her in an attempt to appear like they are trying to clean up their shit show of an image.
Given that she has been associated with being part of the the problem, doesn't matter if that is a correct assumption or not. Also quick check shows she is still losing subs. Not to mention that Nijisanji seems to have decided to go heavy on the primarily female audience in China. They might conclude there isn't much to lose by cutting her off.
The Nijisanji Reddit was wiped of everything between the past two months and today only has new posts about talent birthdays.
It took them this long to do it, place has been a mostly unmoderated, toxic trashfire since February, when the mods outside the company called it quits.
Niji can't fire talents that are considered part of the problem without at minimum ditching Vox and Luca, and we all know they aren't doing that.
They absolutely can and have done that. I mean, there is a reason why I mentioned the whole "they've gone hard on catering to the female audience in China." They do have a favoritism problem, that they aren't willing to address because right now it's profitable and no one seems willing to go after them on it, if there is a attack avenue that a lawyer can use in court.
Anyways, they can also side step the favoritism allegations and come up with some other excuse to shit can her. If she is one of the bullies, then there likely are other victims. So they can have their bullshit excuse of "Doki wasn't bullied by Elira, but Elira was bullying others, so we had to let her go." Hell, the only reason why any of us suspect Elira as being one of the bullies is that bullshit black video, on top of Anycolor making the bullying public knowledge when Doki was trying to keep that private. I can easily see a case where Vox and Ike's names were only in that legal document because it had everything to do with the favoritism. Also possible they were simply listed for be present during one of the incidents (if you call someone to court for any reason, kind of need to know their real name and not that of their anime boy persona on social media). Could one of them have been harassing sure, the favoritism isn't mutually exclusive from that.
Anyways, I just hope the decent folks still at that shitty company are able to find a soft landing outside of the company because Anycolor only seems to be getting worse. I don't see things improving, not unless the company gets sold off to a new owner, that then goes in and really cleans out all the rot.
Fake edit: I hate how we've regressed to a point on this forum where I have to quote in a separate window, if I want to easily quote people.
did elira ever come back after that terrible black screen stream
She came back and has done some limited streams. Notably, she's streaming Persona 3 Reload with her chat locked to subscribers around at least a while longer than the black screen stream. She and Finana are doing Lazulight 3rd Year Anniversary at this very moment, to an audience of about 3k, which isn't... very good for an anniversary/group stream, shrug. I think she can stream to a very diminished audience for basically as long as she wants, but the growth and success she had previously is basically gone and not coming back.
Yeah every time I've seen her streams pop up lately the viewers are less than a third of that. Which is less than some Phase members, at least Rin from Idol, and think Kyoresu too from the couple streams I saw come up (even with all the drama around her) for comparison. So not great given who she is and how Mint seems to be doing for example.
But it seems consistent, so agree it looks like she still has an audience if she sticks around.

Assuming you're talking about their concert(s) happening at Anime Expo, I'd say that's been in the works for at least 6 months now because of how reserving a physical venue like that works, meaning they were already locked in when the Selen stuff happened. Also for a company that's adamant that their talents aren't idols, they sure like segregating their performances based on gender (first the AR live, then Virtual Rhapsody, and now this).
I really don't know what's going on in Anycolor's heads, because in addition to doing those two concerts (which should have been just one concert, imo) they're also doing a concert for Chronoir despite them having like no overseas presence. Like I can't tell if it's overconfidence or utter incompetence that makes Anycolor do these things. It's just such a stark difference in comparison to Cover who, based on the location they chose, how many tickets they initially put up for sale, and the fact they shoehorned in HoloJP and HoloID appearances, was scared that the entirety of HoloEN wouldn't be enough of a draw to fill a venue smaller than the one at AX for their standalone show in America despite it not requiring having a separate convention ticket and it featuring the entire branch.
I hate how social media has primed people to have a very unrealistic expectations on how quickly companies react to things. Given what all is done in the industry, it'll probably be a full year before Anycolor feels the full effects of their bullshit on a number of things.
Remember Anycolor can argue that they have been merely accused of being extremely shitty and that means anyone with a contract with them, doesn't have much latitude to jettison their asses. Anyone that has already cut them off or is moving to cut them off. Either doesn't have to worry about Anycolor going after them for breach of contract or the penalties for breaking the contract are small enough, that it's worthwhile or trivial to do so.
