I borrowed Super R-Type from my aunt and uncle for YEARS, and have kinda missed it, so I'm glad to see it here (though I kinda wish it was part of a collection I could purchase).

I liked Wrecking Crew as a kid, and have always been curious about its radically different sequel. I'm just surprised they finally brought it over at all.

I need to play Other M again. I know everyone hates it, and I think the story was meh and the characterization of Samus was awful but I feel like the gameplay ... wasn't bad.

The EMMI grapples aren't really supposed to be quick button presses, it's an instant death thing that sometimes you can be lucky and get out of

I genuinely enjoyed Other M, I'm just having fun with it's reputation.

Like the Star Wars prequels, or Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, or Batman v Superman.

I do not have a horse in the silksong race but silksong got rated in australia the other day, and was rated somewhere in SE asia before that, and has a real store page on the MS store (that appeared on april 1st so a lot of people thought it was a cruel joke but it's still there)
I think it is actually coming soon, maybe not announced in this event but maybe this year.

Of all the things Other M did poorly, I really think that control scheme was the worst offender. I couldn't even engage with what was there in a satisfying manner.

I really thought, nunchuck thumbstick to control Samus' movement, pointer controls for aiming her arm cannon as she moves about. That could have been stellar.

Instead we are trying to play a 3D action shooter with an NES controller that you occasionally have to turn sideways to fire a damn missile.

Other M isn’t fun to play. It auto-aims for you and if you’re good at mashing the d-pad at the right moment you’ll almost never get hit or seriously injured. Unless you want to fire missiles, then you got to aim the Wiimote at the screen and just stand there while you fire. Occasionally the game will interrupt you while you’re running down a hallway to make you slowly walk around a bathroom or force you to aim the Wiimote at the screen again to do a pixel hunt.

your reward for pixel hunting or just progressing in general will be the awful 20 minute cutscenes with the worst and dumbest story in the Metroid series and probably one of the worst stories in a first party Nintendo game.

man I hate complaining online but Other M was a bitter disappointment. I got so hyped for, well, that

Did not realize there was gonna be an indie world today (been totally out of the loop for everything lately tho).

I am down for cat game and wayforward not-metroid. The rest was meh, but it's fine. (edit: Oh, TMNT Diablo actually looked fun too)

So uh... is this Antonblast just an out-and-out knockoff of Pizza Tower? I thought it was like a more polished sequel or something. But it seems like it's two different devs. So... I guess that's a thing.

Not a bad Indie Direct. There were a few things that looked fun. That Stitch game is right up my wife's alley. In fact, I'll probably be buying that for her switch without telling her.

Little Cat, Big City is a game I have been looking forward to for a while now. Can't wait to play it.

I'm sure the puzzle format Stitch is using is some old format that comes from somewhere. Probably related to picross or something. But I only remember it as one of the daily puzzles from one of the Layton games. And it was one of the best ones.

Here's hoping the Pizza Tower folks get the resources to port their game over before this comes out.

Antonblast and Pizza Tower both fill two pretty distinct visions for their main inspiriation(Wario-like) even while sharing the same core concept.

The devs of both projects are on friendly terms - Peppino is even a playable character in Antonball.

I mean, pizza tower is 'just an out-and-out knockoff' of Wario Land 4. I can credit them both as sharing an inspiration rather than one copying the homework of the other.

Just finished the Indie World video. That might have been the worst showing for me in a long, long time. Nothing of interest at all.

e: Metroid-like game looked cool but the main character voice over physically caused me pain and I'm worried that she'll like like that throughout the game.

They were both in development concurrently and the devs are fans of each other, the Pizza Tower guy made a comic featuring Peppino and Anton, and ANTONBLAST features Peppino as a playable character
They also control and play quite differently

Oh was it bad? I watched the whole thing without sound since I'm technically at work... lol... the gameplay looked fun :P
