    I feel like there's a somewhat common folktale archetype of "man marries attractive woman under the condition he not pry into X. He eventually does it anyways and she goes away because turns out she was actually a something or other"?

    In my Monster of the Week campaign, a player decided to be the Pararomantic with a shoggoth partner.

    Everyone was surprised when I portrayed Terry, the Shogoth, as an incredibly supportive and emotionally mature partner in a very normal relationship. They have since become one of the fan favorite characters.

    At this point they and their partner JD are basically an incredibly healthy and well adjusted Venom.
