DIABLO IV!
How to join the clan, The Merch Hungers.
HexDex wrote: »
1. Joining the clan is a multi-step process. Once you request to join, I or an officer have to accept your request. Then you will get an invite that you need to accept. You wont auto join once you have been approved.

2. You have to opt into quick join in this game. It's not on by default like D3 so your friends/clan mates cant just jump in.

Still have a bunch of people who have requested the invite, but have not accepted it!
ALSO
the cap of 150 clan members unfortunately returns. In addition to the above, please PM @HexDex or @Noggin to let us now that your request to join is legit, and you should be approved as soon one of us is able.

Live helltide mystery chest map:
https://helltides.com/

D4 Aspects: (search/filter, best gamble source)
https://diablo4.life/tools/gambling

Classes
  • Barbarian is able to use 4 weapons, and can switch between them based on skills.
  • Sorceress can enchant two of their skills as extra passive effects.
  • Druid freely shapeshifts based on skill usage, and can specialize with animal spirits to augment their build.
  • Rogue mixes both blades and bows, can imbue their weapons, and specializes in combo points, energy regen, or cooldowns.
  • Necro will have minions that can be sacrificed for bonuses, some classic bone skills, and some fresh blood and even damage over time skills.
  • Spiritborn looks like a monk with skills imbued by the power of four animal spirits, with the following themes and damage types.
    - Jaguar: agility and speed (fire)
    - Gorilla: strength and toughness (phys)
    - Eagle: mobility and midrange precision (lightning)
    - Centipede: CC and DoTs (poison)

Legendary items & Aspects
  • Items can add ranks to skills, going past the cap or providing a skills you don't have.
  • Legendaries provide benefits that can roll on almost* any “rare” item, be claimed from a dungeon as an Aspect, or extracted from an item by the Occutlist. Then you can imprint the aspect onto another rare item.
    * Legendary powers are found/imprinted by category on the following slots:
Defensive - Shield, Helm, Chest, Pants, Amulet
Offensive - Amulet, Weapon, Gloves, Ring
    Resource - Helm, Amulet, Ring
Utility - Shield, Helm, Chest, Amulet, Gloves, Ring
    Mobility - Amulet, Boot

Campaign / Endgame:
  • The campaign only needs to be completed once, and Lilith statues only need to be found once. Statues map: https://d4builds.gg/map/
    ---
  • World tiers (initially two) allow you to raise the difficulty of the game in return for more reward. Tier 3 has sacred items and uniques, tier 4 has ancestral items.
  • Nightmare Dungeons: there are keys that will bring a specific dunegon area to higher level, with modifiers. These will allow you to level Glyphs, which are kinda like legendary gems in the form of a passive skill you socket into the paragon board.
  • Helltides: From world tier 3 on, a map region can be consumed by a helltide, empowering the monsters and allowing them to drop Cinders, which can be used on chests scattered around the area to receive a specific reward, or a mysterious chest with multiple items: https://helltides.com/
  • Whispers of the Dead: Sorta like bounties, events scattered around the world worth 1, 3, or 5 favors on completion. 10 favors can be exchanged at the Tree of Whispers for your choice of a loot cache.
  • PVP is available in a select few zones. It is completely optional and only provides cosmetics.

Gameplay
  • Large, open map with world events and other players. Dungeons are solo or party of four.
  • Controller support confirmed for PC, including option for Bottom-Left or Bottom-Center action bar

Noteworthy game options:
Sound
- In-game Loot Sounds can be turned off for all or certain types
- You can raise the threshold for loot sounds to occur from Common to Magic/Rare/Legendary/Unique
- You can enable sounds for ambient loot (which I think means if you left the area and walked back it would play again)
- Error dialog can be replaced with a noise, or turned off entirely.

Gameplay
- Channeled skills can be turned into a toggle
- You can reduce strobing lights if that's a concern
- Advanced tooltips can be enabled to show property ranges and whether they are additive/multiplicative

Controls
- On PC, movement, basic attack, and interact are all on left click by default. You can disable that and set them individually, or rebind the basic skill and enable “move and interact” on left click.
( Note that you can swap between KBaM and Controller seamlessly, at any time, just by using it )
- Controller lets you lock-on to targets by tapping right-stick (AMAZING for kiting playstyles)
- Likewise, “Persist Target Lock” will automatically lock onto something in your next pack of enemies

Social [ and Clan! ]
- Cross platform play can be disabled, but it locks you out of the Clan feature
- NPC dialog can be removed from the chat box
- Local chat is joined by default, but you can leave it
- The "Clan Member Comes Online" notification is off by default
- Quick Join is off by default. Some of us used this a lot in 3 so it's good to be aware of.

Accessibility
- Screen shake and combat hit flashes can be disabled
Diablo II: Ressurected
It's actually happening happened, it's out now!! Same game mechanics, new graphics, along with increased stash size, an auto-pick gold option, and controller support!

It looks like today’s stream will have A LOT of new changes to uniques, and I think updated patch notes afterward.

Hoping for some good rogue items because I really need to play that this season after I doubled up on sorc.

There's a full list of before/after Unique items at the bottom. I like the idea of uniques being clearly better than legendaries within their niche, but I wonder if it could get frustrating trying to find them. i.e. unique weapons falling behind your ilvl as you level up, and being extremely difficult to find with greater affixes.

Despite these changes, I'm probably going to continue to run 0 uniques in most of my builds. Not because they are weak, but because they demand the player to build around them in a way that discourages roleplaying and sticking to the core of your character idea.

But that's a problem that could be solved by time alone. As Blizzard continues to add more uniques to the game, it will become easier to find ones that you can put in your build without having to compromise your vision of who your character is.

Am I missing something obvious, or is this a weird change:

Resplendent Sparks and Scattered Prisms will no longer be automatically picked up. Additionally, these items can now be found in the lost items Stash if forgotten on the ground.

Don't forget that you can farm them from the Obol vendor now. That will probably make it trivial to get a "good enough" version of the one you want, if not a perfect version.

they need a legendary aspect for "make chain lightning really big and make thunder noises"

Those resources are lesser in number and painful if you miss them, so it makes sense to treat them more like boss mats than something like gem dust.

Also it's partly a flavor thing, important loot usually has to be picked up while materials are dime a dozen and don't require much thought. The player should be made aware if they got something particularly valuable.

Unless there's some huge drop rate nerf I'm not remotely worried. Always drowning in the damn things this season, and it should be even moreso next with them lowering torment summon cost to 1 stygian stone.

Getting a GA Mythic might be tough but I'm not shedding tears over it.

It's not the ''goes to stash'' thing that's odd, but that they'd make something like a spark be able to be lost at all that's weird.

It's consistent with how all other loot in the game works.

In a Diablo game, you are an adventurer who slays monsters. When the monsters die, loot drops from their corpses onto the ground. Loot doesn't just teleport straight from the monster's dead body to your inventory. That wouldn't make any sense!

Right now you can't lose them. You just likely won't even know they exist unless you peek at your currencies constantly.

With the new update I guess you might technically be able to lose them to an overflowing stash.

  • GrisloGrislo Registered User regular
If they were automatically added to your resources you couldn't lose them, but if they become stash items you can - 10 items in the 'grab it or lose it' pile isn't always a lot. It's a minor thing, but just add the fucking crucial item directly to the player inventory.

Ok is there some issue on the Xbox version? I have been unable to play for weeks now. It shows the splash screen when I click the game and then black. Never loads. I’ve tried reinstalling and hard resetting and it’s the same problem

Edit ok apparently you have to press a and it worked, what a weird glitch and it’s been around for weeks

Nothing in the game currently works like that though. It's presumably a lot easier to convert an item from one existing type to another existing type than to create an entirely new category just for two resources.

I'm sure they could do it of course, but maybe they have more important priorities right now?

Sparks work this way right now. They don't even hit the floor, just go directly to your mats with a small notification.

The fact that people do not seem to know this, means they don't know they are even getting sparks. And that's why it is changing.

Managed to get all of the Iron Wolves rep last night with the help of a random 100 (thank you Loki). And I think I'm 88?89? Something like that anyway. Might make 90 today, but I have to pack and clean before I leave, so who knows. I get back on the 9th, so I'll be late getting into the new season, but no worries.

[edit]Welp. Guess I'm not going to New Orleans, thank you, tropical storm Debbie. Probably still won't make it to 100. I'm actually kind of amazed I made it to 90, I'm much more of a filthy casual, lol[/edit]

I appreciate how the writers are humanizing the cultists though, showing how a person could have well-meaning intentions for becoming one.

There were a few quests in the base game that did similar things for bandits and even a long quest line about a human and a demon sharing a body symbiotically. It always adds a bit of depth to the world when they do things like that.

I was hoping that all my aspect collecting to fill up the codex last season got moved to eternal first, and then when you make a seasonal character, you copy it over to the seasonal character.

But no, have a new empty codex to start over again?

At least the unlocked Tempering Manuals stay unlocked.

So this season you might only make a character on Seasonal for the season/battlepass?
Because the seasonal questline is available in Eternal too, right?

EDIT: After the patch came in, I tried the game out, and the "interact with the reinforced door" quest was bugged for me.
It was staggering to see how many people were running around with the exact same problem.
So I went to a Helltide and fought a bit, and then decided to go back to Zarbinzet and suddenly there was a quest marker on the door and I could interact with it.

Great show people, adding a new questline and having a bug in it!

No, there are two quests. One is season-exclusive and can be started at any time. The other is eternal and requires reaching World Tier 3 to begin.

  • NogginNoggin Registered User regular
The codex has always reset, which makes even more sense now that the aspects can reach full power.

The tempering manual unlock is apparently unintended. They’re rolling with it, but said not to expect that in future seasons.

Season 5 is going to be a "dink around" season for me, with no expectations for any sort of real progression or completion at all. It's starting way too close to the WoW expansion launch. And the WoW expansion launch is starting way too close to the Vessel of Hatred launch. Their release planning at Blizz HQ is bad.

Anyway, I made a barb last night and did a bit of dinking around. Melee life is rough on world tier 2 at level 4.

  • rndmherorndmhero Registered User regular

no kidding I just don't see much reason to ever play the eternal realm any more. There is nearly always a season up so no real reason not to just roll with it.
