First inauguration to be held in a prison?
This is a joke - I know he's not going to prison

Yeah, they outright said they're not considering incarceration as a "practicable recommendation."

For Elon, "Temu Tony Stark" is popular on BlueSky, but do agree that the no nickname rule makes sense since going deep on the nicknames makes conversations impenetrable.

Yeah but there is the opportunity for a judge to do the funniest thing in american history.

And maybe the last thing in american history!

I've also made that drive several times, and marveled at those town names

But they are all, perhaps unbelievably given Indiana's whole vibe, named after people with those last names

    Fascinating
    Wikipedia wrote:
Whitestown was laid out in 1851 when the railroad was extended to that point.[4] It was named for Albert Smith White, a U.S. Senator from Indiana.[5][6][7] The name of the town has at points been noted for being easily perceived as having historical ties to racism in Indiana, despite Albert S. White being known as a leading abolitionist.[8] The first post office in Whitestown was established in 1853.[9]

Given the whole state is named after the original owner according to the land deed, "Indian A", perhaps not that surprising.

There is value in using alternate names for a person well known for searching themself if you want to converse without them getting involved. In this context? A forum google isn't going to be serving up highly and even if Musk does stumble upon this thread I want him to see us call him a clown. What is he going to do, message PA to get the forum shut down?

Even better: make an account and get banned shortly thereafter for being a shithead.

Then continue to make alts because he's a child who can't let anything go.

Our mods do not deserve this. Think of the mods!

not sure what's supposed to be the point of calling him elmo

call him something really fucken stupid, like X

Some communities like to avoid weird nerds by using a nickname. Similar to how some threads here avoided typing "gate" immediately after the word "gamer" because the forums were publicly indexed and commenting on the subject could attract dark web weirdos.

I suspect that the point is to reduce the likelihood of him stumbling across our little corner of the internet on, what I assume are, his daily self googling sprees.
Then getting his feelings hurt that he is not loved and there are, in fact, a double digit number of people posting here laughing at him.
And then he turns his laser of internet hate towards us by calling us out on Twitter, making all the mods have a very bad day and potentially accelerating the shuttering of the doors by our Penny Arcade overlords.

Given that we have several threads full of commentary on him, companies he’s associated with, and have been gleefully sharing mockery and scorn on him for years now, I think we can safely say it’s unlikely we’d do anything but fly under the radar even if we tried.

So I did learn something about the terrorist attack in New Orleans (which still feels so weird to type out) apparently the bollards were working fine. They didn't install them against the flow of traffic because it doesn't come up. Instead they parked a cop car across the street. The dude jumped the curb which is a problem. If you put bollards there the area is no longer wheelchair accessible. So it was not a maintenance issue. It was a very difficult to solve safety vs accessibility issue. For those still here, curious, and did not already know.
