I'm a big fan of German engineering. So the 745 Li?

    ohh yes

    It's iL
    I used to drive one.

The smaller the car the better, I think. iLs are fucking boats and I'd rather spend the money on an M3.

    ooooops

I perfer big cars, I hate hate hate little cars.

Eh, little cars are lighter so I prefer the power I get outta them. My V12 750iL was 300hp but weighed so much more that my Saab 900 SE Turbo (inline v4) was much, much faster at only 189hp.

I just perfer comfort over acceleration. I want to go 120mph, but dammit I want to do it in style and comfort. If that means some riced out Civic beats me off the line, so be it. In the end he's still driving a little plastic bucket and I'm still driving a fine-tuned perfectly engineered leather sofa.

    Hey now whoa now

Did you just say every fast small car is a ricer

    because :x

    not at all.

However the "box of shit" to actual quality vehicle percentage is much much more pronounced the smaller the vehicle becomes. Once down to the coupe level.... it's a david and goliath comparison between ricers and quality.

Have you ever driven a Saab 900 SE Turbo or a Saab 9-3 2.0T

Jesus christ, listen to what I'm fucking saying.

There are many QUALITY smaller cars.

HOWEVER, by and large, smaller cars have a much higher percentage of shit.

NOT ALL SMALL CARS. JUST MOST.

There are many larger cars that are shit.

HOWEVER, by and large, a much higher percentage of larger cars ARE NOT SHIT.

    Stale, to be fair

there are practically no cars that are "shit" anymore. Even the eleven grand Hyundai Accent is a decent little car.

What your are describing is true, but simply because companys that build cheaper cars tend not to build big cruisers. Chevy, for example, simply does not have a car the size of the 7-Series. Cadillac on the other hand, which makes more expensive cars, does.

    I should probably clarify:

A vehicle can be reliable and dependable, it can run for 100,000 miles without a tune-up and still, TO ME, the car is shit. I put a lot of emphasis in style and comfort, in the little things on the interior, the extras. Shit like that.

I drive a shit car, not because I couldn't afford a nicer car, but because my wife wanted a 2006 HHR. It's dependble, it's reliable, it gets everything done, and gives us no trouble. However, TO ME, it is shit. That is my personal preference in autos. I perfer luxury.

However even then, I've driven some luxury cars that were shit. i.e. Buick Park Avenue. or Lincoln Mark VIII. I've also driven smaller cars that were very nice, i.e. BMW 3-series or whatever that little Acura sporty coupe is, that was a nice car.

STILL, to me, I just can't get into a small car. I'm not comfortable, I don't like how they feel, and I don't like how they look. Maybe it has something to do witht he fact I'm 6'5" and just don't fit into sports cars at all comfortably.

It still comes down to the fact that, in most cases, small cars are built to be economical and cost efficient. The extras that some people, including myself, find so important in a vehicle just don't fit into that scenario.

Well saying a car is shit instead of not to your preference is kinda wrong, dude. I like sporty cars but I don't treat Buicks as shit because they fill their market well.

I can't think of many cars that truly have no merits. The Dodge Stratus is pretty shitty. Uh.....hmmm. That's about it.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the little extras German cars have too. But there is a different between "not luxurious" and "shit".

    well kinda

    i keep telling you

the main appeal comes from the GTR

which ain't cheap in the slightest

I only looked at the first page but the R32 GTRs are commanding quite a bit, and the subsequent generations only command more

well that first page goes up to 21k
this is australia. i dunno how much cars cost in america but for reference, new cars here start at 15k
and we are talking about a bunch of economical 2 door hatchbacks at that price. and that probably doesnt include stamp duty or whatever other bullshit fees they add to the price later

and im sure you can find cheaper deals on the skylines from private buyers, also listed on that site

but the main thing is that they have been around here for years and i am rubbing it in

i'm saying a decent R34 GTR still costs mad amounts of money

especially considering few good ones are left that haven't been converted into fancier models

    which cost even more

and then a few of those are left

because NISMO bought 500 (I think?) back to convert them into V-Specs

which is the last hurrah for the R34 and is a crazy, crazy car and it costs so much money
