The Senate Judiciary Committee today subpoenaed the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney's office for documents relating to President Bush's warrant-free eavesdropping program.

Discuss and/or cocks.

Scarab... I'm not sure if you've noticed, but our government doesn't really care what's legal or illegal.

We have a long history of disgustingly illegal activities being performed by our government.

Naturally they're going to say that the documents are missing or are a national security matter or blah blah executive branch is immune ot being subpoenaed which will be fun since Cheney says he isn't part of the executive branch because he's retarded

There's a rumor that he'll step down this summer before his pacemaker surgery, so that they can put Fred Thompson into his office in order to help him in the 08 elections.

    That's a dumb rumor.

Because if Fred Thompson is seen as a front runner for the 2008 elections, putting him in the VP spot gives him plenty of exposure and makes people associate him with a position of power already.

Not the last few days, no. What has surfaced exactly
The CIA released a whole slew of classified documents from between 1950 and the early 1970s detailing a large portion of their illegal, covert operations.

Which included spying on US civilians illegally.

It is called the family jewels and I linked to it earlier in this thread.

The Dept. of Defense de-classified a document saying they spent 7.1 million to try and develop a "Gay Bomb", which was a bomb that you would explode in the air above enemy troops that would litter the infantry with pheromones designed to make the soldiers want to stop fighting and have sex with each other. The project was unsuccessful.

Imagine if it were? It would bring a WHOLE new meaning to the term "friendly fire."

    EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_bomb

You are right, but according to our "democracy" spreading Prez we are a democracy.

I just keep hoping every day that people will finally wise up to the BS they throw down, but after a recent visit to Kentucky with Viva Bush bumper stickers on every 89' Chevy Silverado, I fear for our future.

I honestly hate when people say that all citizens of the US are fat, lazy, stupid, etc, but man I visit places like that and I start to get it.

God I would hate this country if it wasn't so damn awesome in more ways than it sucks.

The Freedom of Information Act request which caused these documents to be released has been a standing order since um... 1995 I believe.
