Video is balls slow to load but oh so worth it.

    Nice.

Hey, why is it that in the movie
the cube not only gave life to inanimate objects (and magically turned them into transforming robots) but made them psychotic and violent as well? How did that explain the Autobots?
Well, all 21st century tech is reverse engineered from Megatron, so that could have something to do with it.

Plus, they were literally just created. If there was a war going on right by you, and people were running and screaming everywhere when you were born wouldn't you freak out?

On the panel discussion thread, they basically said that the ones created by the Allspark on Earth are more or less feral.

    And that.
Despite the fact that Megatron wanted to use it to make a new army of Decepticons (is that how it is spelt?) that it's real use was to power cybertron, it's giving life to robot stuff is accidental which is why they are all psycho.

In all seriousness though how much of an effective weapon would it be to chopper that over a country you are at war with then set it to give life though. Those toasters would shit all over you.

So I got bored and did what a lot of people have done and added a ton of scuff to '76 Bumblebee.

I did a black wetwash on his head to bring out the detail there, going to clean that up a little bit in the morning because it got a little too black in some parts.

The other night I painted his "X-mouth" silver so it wasn't just a black mask and then tonight I painted his "ears" and "cheeks" silver, and then outlined his eyes in silver too, to make them circular rather than slender ovals. When you look really closely you can see his eyes are actually circular like they're supposed to be but the blue paint for the eyes bleeds over to the left and right of each eye making it look like he has slender ovals for eyes, so yeah I fixed that.

Then I just started adding scuff and whatnot with a mix of black and silver and then those colors separately in a few places.

I think he looks a lot better and so I suppose that matters most. I'll probably take pictures tomorrow once this all dries more.

I'm hoping for an appearance by blastwave in the next movie. In my head he'd become a nuclear submarine and thus use his sonar to locate Megatron and revive him while other Autobots and Decepticons land on Earth. Some would pledge their loyalty to Starscream who maintains that Megatron is dead, killed by Prime and the Autobots with help from the humans. Starscream will martyr Megatron while Blastwave and a revived Megs gather a small group and start their plans for revenge on the Autobots.

Meanwhile Prime begins welcoming new bots to their side including many fan favorites absent from the first movie along with a few new faces based on American concept cars.

Megatron learns that he still has part of the allspark within his body and works to re-charge it's power slowly by exploiting Earth's natural resources to convert them into a kind of energon. Starscream, discovering Megatron's survival panics and does his best to try and kill Megatron before he re-takes power from him.

During this time Barricade, now a free agent refusing to join up with his former leader or his rival Starscream begins to make peace with the Autobots in a pairing of convenience while secretly plotting on how to usurp power from Starscream. During this time he adopts the name "Prowl" and adapts to seem more Autobot-like to please his new compatriots.

In the third movie Megatron, full of ill-begotten energon, has become the new allspark. Calling himself Galvatron (possibly voiced by Leonard Nimoy) he returns life to Cybertron in an attempt to create a planet-sized transformer under Decepticon control. Being enormous and virtually unstoppable the planet, dubbed Unicron, enslaves Megatron and sets off to attack Earth with Megatron and his few surviving loyalists as his heralds.

    Well... a boy can dream.

    Awesome movie idea.
You know why that would make an amazing movie or two?

No damn human characters. Seriously, there wasn't nearly enough attention to the Autobots and even less on the Decepticons. I wanna see Starscream and Megs' deal more than just hinted at.

On an unrelated note, I always imagine Optimus as being lame. I guess cause the Autobots are against fighting unless it is necessary, I forget how freaking awesome he is. The scene where he stabbed Bonecrusher in the jaw with the sword really expressed the 'I don't like to fight, but if I have to, I'm going to fucking kill you' attitude that you don't see enough of.

edit: Holy shit, what is up with my post getting butchered everytime I re do it? I had to fix it like 4 times.

I also expect the gorgeous CGI Transformers might not have looked so gorgeous in vastly increased detail.

I remember seeing Episode II in IMAX and everything had this weird cartoony feel to it. Effects that look great on a normal screen don't always come across as well massively amplified.

This is what I did to Bumblebee

    bbpaint.jpg

Painted his X Mouth silver, his "ears" and "cheeks" and then wet washed his head and used some light strokes in a mix of silver and a little black to add scuff to him. I added a little to his legs and arms too but not enough to really matter. The main parts to be seen are the head and chest.

Well, the problem is that'd be a CG animated feature then. And these guys have been making a live action movie, and will ocntinue to make them. You'll have to wait for a different project by a different team if you want no humans.
