X-Com? X-Com. (Or if you want basically the same but in a more portable flavor, you can get Rebelstar for the GBA)

Thanks for the replies guys, I've played the old x-com games to death on the Amiga.. not played any of the newer ones.

Also played Thief a fair bit, i've got it laying around somewhere.

Unfortunately Pokemon (diamond/pearl) isn't out for the DS in the UK yet.

I already have Legacy Of Kain Soul Reaver for the pc somewhere and I have Age Of Empires too.

I've not got an Xbox 360, the three red lights of doom aren't making it an attractive purchase. I'm not touching the PS3 until the price comes down.

    I have the following consoles:

    Playstation 1 & 2
    Dreamcast
    Wii
    Gameboy Colour
    DS
    GP32 & GP2X
Xbox (I use this pretty much for XBMC only)

And for completeness' sake, an Atari Lynx and Amiga 1200.

I'll say this once, so listen up.

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R

And I just realised if someone has already mentioned this already, it would be very embarrassing for me.

Already got Starcraft and frankly I never really got into CS:S, ordinary CS yes.. CS:S? No, the game lost something in the transition to source. Maybe it was the map design, or the pacing.. it just felt like it no longer had any soul in it.

So games probably to look at on my list:

    Vampire Bloodlines
    STALKER
    Resident Evil 4 Wii

There are others too, but those are the ones that stick out the most to me.

I'd say to wait a bit on this one. No one seems to have mentioned the amount of bugs present in the game, or that what patches are available seem to focus more on multiplayer fixes. It's still playable, and it's a great game, it would just be better without the bugs.

I really wanted to like Stalker. But my god. The guns. It's like someone took a hammer to the barrel and loaded them with twist-finned bullets. Guy standing still 30 feet away? No problem, take out my SMG, crouch, look down the sight, aim at the head, bullet hits him in the foot. WTF?

I really don't recall having any such problem really, but then again I don't think the game starts proper until you've got some armour and at least an AK-74 or whatever. That being said there's probably a mod out there somewhere that fixes your problem.

Given that you appear to like turn-based strategy, you have to check out Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic if you can still find a copy. The best fantasy TBS I've ever played (if you're into that sort of thing).

Oh, yeah, it kinda was but Max Payne 2 fixed that problem. By being really short. :x

No, actually, it's a great game and you should definitely get it.

Oh, and Thief I & II are awesome, get them too!

Get some Shin Megami Tensei games, mainly Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2. I vouch for the first one as I haven't played the second one (yet). (PS2)

God Hand is goes for dirt cheap nowadays and it is an awesome, awesome game. (PS2)

You could also get Elite Beat Agents for the DS. I haven't played it yet, but I saw some videos and they made me cry tears of joy. Dead fucking serious - I cried.

If you're after a "wii" rpg, try tales of symphonia... ok it's actually a Gamecube game but I really enjoyed it.

Oh and I imported Super Paper Mario for the Wii and can HIGHLY recommend it, it's out over here in September.

Eledees on Wii is fun, if not that engrossing, I wouldn't be able to play it for any length of time.

Might as well also add both Baten Kaitos games, Paper Mario: TTYD, Skies of Arcadia Legends, and maybe the X-Men Legends games.

Alright, here's the thing. I didn't see any fighting games listed. Thats fine. Good, even. I don't play many fighting games myself, except the occasional fight night game, etc.

Get DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 for the Wii. Its filled with extreme awesome, and it brought love from me, someone with little love for DBZ and even less for fighting games.
