To some it may sound sillly, but I really want to see just how good I can be, and I'm thinking about joining special forces. Does anyone know how you join one of the special forces groups, what all special forces groups are out there, or just any information on the subject. I'm interested in how fit I should be before I sign up, as well as how you join them (Do I tell my officer I want to go special forces after I've had combat experience or when I'm enlisting.)
Its not enough to win. You want nothing left of your enemy but a skull nailed to a fence post so everybody understands the cost of crossing you. -Durga
I was thinking about joining the Marines, but they're batshit nuts.
Then I was thinking Navy, but I can't swim.
Then I thought Air Force, but I'm afraid of heights.
Then I was like, "Fuck that. I don't feel like being in the army and getting shot at."

I've got a good friend in the marines. He has targets set up so he can shoot while sitting on his back porch so I don't have too high expectations for anything he does in the future.
I can't see without my glasses, haven't been able to since I was little. I never took them off, so I never went swimming. And I just got contacts last summer.
I should correct myself: I can swim, but really really badly.

you don't really need to see to swim
i mean, it's nice to see what's ahead of you
but it's not necessary
When I say, "I can't see," I mean I really can't see. Like, a foot away, and that shit's pretty blurry.
I'd rather be dry than blind.
Like I said, I can swim a little. Like, enough to stay afloat while they pulled me into a boat. Any distance? Not so much.
Keep in mind I'm not covering Navy Seals or the other flavors of that field, but there are steps to apply for special forces within a branch of the military like the Army.
Weird thing is, a lot of applicants to SEALS in recent years have mentioned that game a shitton.
My mom's friend's nephew, David, is a SEAL. I guess a few years back, she asked him what he did, and he said "I could tell you but I'd have to kill you." She starts laughing, and he goes, "No, seriously. If I told you, I'd have to kill you. You can't know what I do."
I was like, "Whoa. Awesome."
