Welcome, gentlemen! Perhaps you're wondering why I've called you here. It's because I have a proposition for you. This proposition is to ROCK THE FUCK OUT WITH OUR POKEYMANS!
BlueBlue defeated me, and in doing so, became to first to legitimately acquire of the title The Best Like No On Ever Was! Congratulations, BlueBlue.
Everyone else, start training so you can pound him into a bloody pulp come the 27th!
Tournament Rules:
-Sleep Clause: you may not put more than one of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep at a time.
-Species Clause: your team must be comprised of six different species of Pokemon.
-Item Clause: No two Pokemon on your team may be holding the same item.
-Suicide Clause: If both players are down to their last Pokemon, the player with the first Pokemon to hit 0 HP is the loser. In other words, using moves like Self Destruct and Explosion cause you to lose, even if it kills your opponent. However, using a move with a recoil that kill both you and your opponent is a win for you.
-When a round begins, PM a list of which 6 species of Pokemon you're using to your opponent (while this is officially a rule, I can't technically enforce it, so obviously there's lots of leniency here). You must have your match and post the results in this thread within 24 hours of the round starting. If this does not happen, a judgment will be made on which player receives a bye to the next round. I will be the one making this judgment unless I'm one of the people who didn't do his round.
-I have the final say in any and all discrepancies, other than ones that I'm involved in.
-You must use the same six Pokemon with the same four moves for the duration of the entire tournament.
-No Legendary Pokemon whatsoever.
-No Wobbuffet, no Wynaut.
-Until the start of Round 1, these rules are subject to change.
-Breaking any of these rules will result in instant disqualification.
You have until 12 AM EST Friday to send me a PM confirming that you're still interested in participating in the tournament. If I don't get the PM, I'm going to assume that you're no longer interested and/or available, and disqualify you
Also, if you'd like to drop out, send me a PM saying that, too.

I say the finalists should try their best to youtube the entire match.
And what's this about PMing your opponent your team? Does that mean you can change teams in between rounds? And why are you allowed to know what pokemon your opponent has before the battle, doesn't that take something away from the tournament?

Personally, I like it when both people know the other guy's team. It adds more tension and doesn't let you fall back on the element of surprise.

I am a large advocate of pokemon-telling prior to battle
Looking at the battle roster this looks like it's going to be very competitive

Maybe I'm just longing for my old team that consisted of Dragonite, Articuno and Pikachu in Stadium
the pokemon know that this is their only chance to prove to me they deserve a spot
and even then sometimes they do not move on (for instance my breloom and ambipom who more than proved themselves)

But how often has Hitmontop been used at all? Very rarely, and there's a good amount of pride in hearing an opponent curse under their breathe when the 'Top dishes out the pain.

And I can't imagine using Pokemon just because they're good. I'd commit Pokemon suicide if I had a Blissey on my team.

Anyway Shujin, I'm not saying that you didn't deserve to win the championship because it obviously takes a lot to be able to win against several teams without changing anything. However, it means more to win by using a team of unlikely riff-raff than to use really OU guys like Blissey. I'm sure I could do better if I ditched Crobat, Chimecho, and Froslass for stronger Pokemon but I wouldn't feel good about my victories.
Yeah, it's much more satisfying to win with UU stuff than OU stuff. One glance at your team and pretty much any website devoted to Pokemon can easily say that your team is defintely OU (exception might be Ambipom, but it's still really annoying to fight).
Although how you managed with a team that gets killed by a Fighting type is beyond my understanding.

It's for that reason I hesitated about using what I did... but with how long it takes me to breed ivs, I couldn't justify using pokemon when I knew of something that could do the same thing but better. I'm sure it's more awesome to win using pokemon that aren't as strong, but I don't have the skill to come up with clever uses for overlooked 'mans.

Every time there is a tournament champion, in the next tournament someone should build a team just to counter their last team used, if they decide to keep using the same stuff
Underused is underused, typically the weakest pokemon (there is one category below it, that is "Never Used")
