I think it's supposed to be the annoyances/stuff that makes you happy threads rolled into one.

Annoyance #1: Getting your forum ganked

    I kid, I kid

Edit: Just saw the other merge, Macros into UI. Wouldn't it make more sense to leave macros alone and combine UI and screenshots? Since half the screenshots posted result in "what UI is that" posts anyway. And a significant portion of the macro chatter is not UI-related.

Edit Edit: Oh, I see, the screenshots is now for all games. OK, I can live with that.

Eh I never thought macros needed their own thread. I mean there's even the Macros and UI Addons forum at the official forums.

    Anyway!

I am annoyed by the existence of Curse of Agony and to an extent Curse of Doom. Curses should be all or nothing debuffs. This may or may not be fueled by my constant stress over dealing with who gets stuck on utility curse duty in raids and who gets to use a DPS curse.

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that there are some people who get pissed at the loss of DPS because they have to use a utility curse.

Man, the raid knows that you have to do it, they know why your damage is that 2% lower than the other locks, and they know that you must have a tiny little dick if this is how you justify your existance.

I find the number of people who can use a damage meter intellegently is pretty small. "Player X had xxx.x hps on that fight, player y had xxx.x-75, so player y is better lololol." But that's stupid. If player Y was healing an off tank, and player X is healing a main tank, the total output needed is differant. Or people who look at total damage done/healed. We used to have a Paladin who padded his meters pretty badly. But everyone raved how good he was. Until I posted the overheal meters. 50% overheal FTW!

I used to spend alot more time teaching people about such things. It's amazing how much better a player can be if they understand some of the basics.

Eh, high overheal is perfectly acceptable if the effective healing is good and the healer doesn't run out of mana.

I don't think those two caveats apply in the given situation, though.

Aye, but generally on new content you want to keep your efficency relatively high. There are fights that one ignores it. Broodlord, Patchwerk, and HuHu all come to mind for that. It's another way in which looking at "total" meters is pretty stupid.

My guild is not making me happy today. I was gonna play Robo-Rally with a few friends tonight, but got called that it'd start late, so I check who is online, and see no shadowpriest so I think, i've got 90mins, I can help out gruul.

    This was a big mistake.

First of, the raid starts late. There were 25 people in the raid ontime, but for some reason noone explains, we stand around for 10 minutes or so waiting for what appear to be 5 people afk outside. Well ok. Nothing is said about this, but we buff and go. We have to many deaths on the brutes because the offtanks are to busy pretending to be DPS to taunt it off the cloth, but ok.

We assign healers. I notice the normal mage isnt tanking, nor the normal first backup, but yet another. I think "ok no big deal".

    Try one.

Mage tank stands within Maulgars arcing strike. Wipe after 15s, 18 people die before run out.

(takes 9 minutes to ress and rebuff)

    Try two.

Mage is slow on spellsteal, takes 2x 9k damage. Wipe after 10s, 21 people die.

(takes 11 minutes to ress and rebuff)

    Try three.

Healers get switched around for some reason, and two do not listen. Tank dies on first arcing strike, after 9 seconds.

At this point total combat duration v. Maulgar is 35s, and we're 50mins past raid start.

    Try four.

Mage tank doesnt do second spellsteal. Wipe. 35s in.

    Try five.

We switch magetank to a regular. I have to go in 10 minutes.

Priest dies lightning fast. 40s or so. What happens then defies all common sense. Instead of the insanely easy All DPS move to warlock..... half go to shaman, half go to warlock. Shaman dies before warlock, and all the melee DPS.... runs to mage. By this time 2 healers and a warlock are dead (enslavement issues). Now 3/5 melee dps is dead too, before people yell on vent. They run to maulgar.... who just then starts to whirlwind. The Warlock dies. So does the rest of our melee DPS.

In the end we do kill with 2 tanks 4 healers and 5 DPS alive, but come on. That was some really stupid shit.

Apparently they oneshot Gruul after i'm gone too. Bastards.

So I reactivated my account with my lv70 mage on and it. One of the first things I did was go on a SL run. We are in that room with the bunch of skellies on the mounds. It just so happened I also saw some ancient lichen and went for it, while he pulled 2 whole mounds of skellies. This is a bare druid, so I can understand how it could be difficult to hold aggro on such mobs. The second he gets a heal they all bumrush our druid healer. Once I see this I stop picking my flower and go to AoE, now the hunter is dead... somehow (he might have been AFK, maybe not). Tank dies, now it's just me and a balance druid. We kill them all with me barely alive. I get bitched for "not doing my job". So I yell back, "You got greedy, and you died. Seems about right."

Sometimes, friends are just not too bright. I could have said he wasn't doing his job by not holding aggro.

Druids and warriors really have no chance of holding aggro on every single skeleton in even a single pack. If they're lucky, they can hold onto three or four of them, and handling the rest is the job of the guy doing AoE. Your tank was a dick for just running out and grabbing two mounds without saying what he was doing, but if you didn't say you were going to be picking flowers beforehand, what happened was at least partly your fault.

What's with people leaving junk in chests? Why is it so hard to take the stuff you want and then dump the stuff you don't so the chest will respawn full for the next player?

Several times now I've battled my way to a battered chest of some kind only to find some other player hand emptied everything valueable out of it. The last time this happened all I got was 1 louse bottle of melon juice.

So i started a BE hunter on black rock a few days ago.

God damn, those BE starting zones look totally amazing in max detail on my shiny new 22" widescreen.

    Also, hunter game play tips:
Whats the best type of pet to use? Currently i use a bat.
How should my shot rotations work? Currently i use Dot shot, slow shot, arcane shot and they normally die before they get to me.

This hunter is really refreshing, new awesome zones, new game play and NO MORE RAIDING (for a little while)

Choice of pet doesnt matter alot really, pick them by abilities (from here: http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/).

    Also get this macro'd:

    /cast Hunter's Mark
    /petattack

Hit that, wait for pet to taunt mob, aimed shot (can wind this up while the pet is approaching), dot (if the fight will last the full duration of the dot), arcane; then just autoshot till arcane is back up (there isnt any real need for specific shot rotations while levelling though really), at low levels (sometimes aimed+arcane will both crit and draw the aggro off your pet straight away, so dont do them concurrently). You wont need the concussive shot now that you have a pet unless you draw aggro from the pet then use it just to give the pet more time to taunt the mob back before it reaches you.

I just had a really sloppy BM run that I was sure would fail but ended up succeeding. The dps was two hunters and a lock, definitely not the burst dps that BM requires. The lock died not once but twice (due to no fault of my own: first he pulled aggro and was one shot, second he ran back through uncleared mobs) and one of the hunters died right when the final boss got there (thank god for battle rez). It was the lowest shield percentage I ever completed BM at (22%) and probably the only reason why we made it is because the warrior and I were way overgeared.

Start kicking people from the raid right then. 9 minutes is a long fucking time, it takes 2 to run back to the entrance to Gruul's Lair. Most likely they can make it back into the fight befroe it's over (on trash, obviously). I bitch at people in vent for that so much that people are releasing the second the die now. It's bullshit if they expect it to go any other way. And rebuffing shouldn't take that much time at all, 3 minutes max for everyone to get in there and get buffed (Unless you have like 1 priest to buff all the forts, in which case 4 minutes).

Happy: Forcing a bot to die from mobs over and over outside Ony's lair. This bot was a doozy: class inappropriate gear, only default reputations visible, never switched from Aspect of the Cheetah, if its pet died and then it dies, when it rezzed it still recalls pet before waiting 1 min to revive pet, I could mark mobs its boar had charged and he'd still kill them, pet named Boar, ran in circles until it could /tar the next mob even though the next mobs are human visible just over there, it would attack me (level 70 druid) as long as I got on its boar's aggro list, etc etc etc.
