I think that Fox news is, as usual, completely missing the point. There's no organization called Anonymous. It's not a group, it's not a state of mind. It's an anthropomorphism of an internet phenomenon. I post occasionally on 4chan. Have I ever bothered putting in a username? No, because it's not worth the extra 5 seconds, because nothing on 4chan lasts for more than a day or so. Does that make me anonymous? Yes. Does it make me Anonymous? Absolutely not.
So we have Fox News versus a bunch of hacker trolls?
I-I don't know who to root for.
Maybe we'll get lucky and both of their vans will spontaneously explode, metaphorically speaking.

*facepalm* If people have a Myspace, bad things happen to them ... I have seen literally lists of thousands of passwords to people's myspaces ... what do I care? Haha, but seriously - the internet hates myspace and ebaumsworld. This news story is only going to make bad things happen to fox news forums/websites/etc.

Anyone stupid enough to get a virus from an e-mail is retarded, and doesn't know how to use a computer, i.e. 1/3 of that one kid's friends. The only evidence they have of them actually "hacking" is getting people's MySpace passwords which takes, what, a keylogger, and someone who doesn't have a fucking clue what they're doing? Jesus, that's difficult.
Though, being able to get ahold of someone's real life info is scary. I mean, it's not like anyone publishes giant books, full of nothing but people's names, addresses, and phone numbers.
A guy I know whose into 4chan and whatever sent me that yesterday, and apparently bits are from 420chan, which is why it has the invasion board. But a 4chan user did the bomb threats.
I don't get it, are you condemning the people who set up the group or the people who busted it? Because I think the latter are great, and its a story of people not putting up with horrible bullshit on the internet that will never make fox news, because its much more profitable to demonise those weird Internet Peoples, with their slang and their incessant button-pressing they must be up to something.
I like that there's a streak of social activism in facebook, and that the internet is helping organise and publicise similar acts. Like that bunch who managed to pressure a bar owner in the US out of hosting a Girls Gone Wild event, back before Joe Francis got thrown in the clink. Its really about time that social pressure to not be a dick started cropping up, even if it is a result of people being scared of lawsuits and criminal prosecution.
I'm pretty sure he's condemning the people who set up the group, so you don't need to worry.
I am unconvinced.
I mean, weird cyberstalking is weird cyberstalking but gay-porn bombing someone's mySpace is hardly that because largely if you're stupid enough to lose your password like that or suspect you have and then proceed to not change it - well I'm laughing.
You guys realize this is a local news affiliate, and not the cable channel, right? All the Fox News hate in here for this story is kind of amusing, but misguided.
They just hire a bunch of lesser crazies to do their lesser local craziness for them.

The best part is when "LULZ" comes up on the screen in giant letters, I fell out of my god damned chair laughing at that.
And the van exploding. What the fuck? What can that even mean? *channers can't make bombs because they aren't old enough to drive to Home Depot. They don't go outside anyways.

Would you like to offer a story in which Fox News has shown their worthiness as an unbiased and objective journalism source?

Assuming Fox News doesn't have any say in who gets to use their name, sure.

Every Fox affiliate local news I've ever seen, coast to coast, is about this level of dreck.

ours in the metro-Richmond area is run by the local NBC affiliate :V
interestingly, our CBS affiliate's news team works with the CW affiliate here as well
Didn't someone from 4chan get in trouble for threatening football playoff games? I think he turned himself in as opposed to being tracked down.
the very best part of the whole thing? the threat that the guys used wasn't even theirs to begin with. it was posted to /b/ like 4 or 5 months before the massive bomb threat spam the two idiots went on.

We still don't get shit like that on regional news in the UK.
Edit: Though thinking about it, swathes of our newspapers are disgusting.

So, everytime someone says "Terrorist" Fox News blows up a van?

Not surprising given that Fox basically dictate what their affiliates are to report.
Are they still all posting on the Fox board? It'll be kind of interesting to see how and if FOX reacts. Probably easiest to ban everyone who tried to join after the story was first broadcast and keep the board closed for awhile.
A part of me wishes that Rupert Murdoch is sitting in his mansion (in my imagination it's more like a dark castle), looking on as a part of his empire winks off the board. He'd be in his chair (throne?) and swearing revenge. He's probably too busy trying to get his dirty mitts on the Wall Street Journal though.

PA has it's own underground trolling organizations though that organize raids on other places through PM networks.
