    Also I just realized, I don't think this bodes well for MGS4 sales. I was optimistic about them when it was delayed until well after Halo 3 and GTAIV, but now it's likely going to run right into one of them again.

    Oh shit, that's right. The two of them look like they might come out at the same time, and if they do, MGS4 is going to get buried. And another awesome game gets ignored.

    I have a feeling this is in relation to two different things:
    One: Microsoft shelving the 360 Core and beginning to make HDD required games/labels. Not that this hasn't existed before, but I believe that this new stand on Microsoft's part. So Take2 might have been able to go back and optimize the game with the assumption of the console having an HD. I remember them saying this was hindering some parts of the development process.

    Two: PS3 wanting to get whatever their "exclusive" content will be fully fleshed out and make sure that it is genuinely something that people will perhaps choose, at least initially, over the 360 version. We know the 360 is going to feature downloadable content, so whatever the initial pack for PS3 is (I think it was called L.A. Noir?) will have to show a good deal of promise out of the box if people who own both systems or are on the fence about one or the other to make their choice.

    So, maybe the two makers sent the developers back to the lab liek Dexter. But, I 'm just guessing at why a game that looked pretty much on track is being delayed.

    MGS4 is probably gonna be very early 2008 I think. Lost Planet kind of release date.

    Anyone think GTA will come out after MGS4?


    Any reasons given for this delay, cause, well, its a huge delay. It had a definite release date for ages and companies never do that unless they are miles ahead of schedule.

    Well, this is bad news.

    But on the plus side, it just means that one more awesome game this Fall can be bought instead, as there are already way too many coming out that I want, can't afford the time to play, or justify the expense of buying them all.

    And this way, we get some good shit when the games run dry early next year. Nice.

    If it is as good as Psi-Ops I'd be ecstatic, because I'm a Woo fan anyways. Plus, custom soundtracks+guitar case full of guns+bad Antonio Banderas impersonations on Live = Desperado the game.

    But going by the previews/reviews, I would only consider CoD4, Rock Band, Ratchet, and Orange Box to be A-list games.

    I've been re-playing it this week. There are some gameplay mechanics that I really hope they incorporate in GTA4, such as the ability to restart a failed mission instantly.

    well yeah but you see what I mean. You can pick any 5 AAA titles for any system this fall and there are 5 more you didnt mention of just as good quality.
