I don't really want to share my "being a good badguy" list because I don't want people knowing my tricks or what to look for when I'm bad =P.
EDIT: However, I will say, as a badguy, when you go to make a post, write it, and then delete it. Write another, and then delete it. Write one more, and post it. After that, ditch your first two ideas for posts, then start over. Generally, I find the first thing I think of is something a bad guy would say, the second thing I think of is something that someone trying hard to not appear as a bad guy will say, and the third thing is a comfortable medium.
And when I emailed Toss, I registered a new screen name.
Ahaha, were you the one who emailed Toss saying you were Jake? I was IMing him at that point and we were talking about how to lure you out, cause we figure you were lying.
I gotta say, one of the most interesting things for me this Phalla was knowing a Bad Guy (tm) from the very beginning, in order to see just how they do it. Honestly, if I hadn't have known from my role PM I NEVER would have known Shenanigans was an original controller.
Yeah, while everyone was running around like a pack of monkeys and revealing themselves, I chilled being so non suspicious.
Good game, everyone.
But especially the yeerks.
I had a GREAT time playing with you guys. We rocked out pretty hard.

Every time (except once, and that is where that random Yeerks post came from, I was tired and didn't check who I was...), I did almost the exact same thing. I'd just leave it in the window, look at it, and think really hard about what I would think if I saw that post. I think the biggest gamble post I made was when I switched from Nuzak to Fembot, and I cited our Harry Potter roles as a reason, but it was probably the one post I felt that I might've given myself away with, cause I didn't feel convinced by it.

Man, it's no wonder Rachel didn't do much in this game... (She's like the Ando of the Hero's phalla....)
Originally, it was supposed to work that because Rachel and I were networked from the beginning, I could acquire her power every day and basically re-use her one-time kill repeatedly.

ultimately the tirck to being a good badguy is to appear like a normal person

And when I emailed Toss, I registered a new screen name.
Ahaha, were you the one who emailed Toss saying you were Jake? I was IMing him at that point and we were talking about how to lure you out, cause we figure you were lying.
I was debating coming out to him as the Ellimist, but decided against it.
I did make an obscure reference with the screen name.
I'm The Ellimist; I can seer or guard every night.
Raneados was my first target. And now I know he's been controlled.
I contacted him after learning he was Marco, because I figured he'd be with the other goods in a network.
Then I learned he was controlled just now, so I outed myself, since I figure the villains know already; and Squashua was getting bandwagoned for no reason(he was my second target, and seered as a regular character).
If you have a guardian in your group, it's safe to say I'll need his protection.
you are a fucking retarded and hate your stupid ass
you can tell I'm angry because i fucked up that sentence
seriously if there wasn't a rule against me talking I would be in the thread bitching your shit out
jesus goddamn christ what is wrong with you
For the fiftieth time, I outed myself because the villains know who I am.
I trusted Raneados, and then he got converted.
I AM ALREADY DEAD YOU MISERABLE FUCK
YOUR FAILURE TO GUARD ME LED DIRECTLY TO MY DEMISE
DO YOU HAVE DOWNS SYNDROME
I didn't know. I've read maybe ten pages of this thread, total.
Wow. Wow. What the fuck is wrong with you!? You sign up to play, you get one of the most powerful roles in the game, and decide to not participate?
People like you are the reason Phallas often suck. I hope you're fucking proud, you inbred mongoloid. What the fuck were you thinking?! So many people who aren't retarded would have killed for that role, and you just fucked the good guys over, hard, by being too lazy to play a game you'd made a commitment to. I hope you catch AIDS and die, you tremendous faggot.
People like you who take games too seriously are the reason they suck.
Chill out.
No, people who like me who take this game at all seriously are the reason you're crying like a bitch.
Why sign up, denying someone who would have, you know, show any interest in the game they signed up to play, when you are just going to be a stupid assfaced cuntbucket and not even read the thread you're supposed to be participating in?
Or why not drop out and let someone replace you when you realized you wouldn't be able to participate fully?
Do you have any reason at all for ruining this game? I don't know if you know this, but Wiggin and Green put a fuck lot of effort into and, and you're not showing them much respect and pissing it all away. Did you just feel that today wasn't the day to fulfill obligations you knowingly made and committed to?
And believe me, I'm perfectly calm. I'm having a good time playing Warcraft with a friend and on Ventrillo, but your utter disregard for the work of others is pretty fucking heinous.
There's a lot you don't know, so let me clarify some things.
I was put in as a replacement while I was at work.
Then, I was told I had to be active or I would be removed. Not a minute after reading the PM stating what my role as a replacement was.
Then I had to guess a seer target or lose the opportunity. I guessed Rane.
Contacted him, made some posts in the thread, and that was it. I didn't feel like reading through the forty pages I missed.
I screwed up, sue me. I'm trying to make up for as much as the mess I can, but I have not been able to keep up with this game as much as I would've liked.
Did you get that job after signing up? Were you abducted and forced into slave labor? I don't see how having another obligation excuses you from this one; if you didn't think you were going to be able to participate, as you so clearly demonstrated, you shouldn't have signed up in the first place.
I apologize to everyone for making the thread like 30 pages longer than it needed to be. I thought I could cause some confusion and chaos. I thought my story was at least plausible enough to make people doubt (Seta 3000, hehe).
It amuses me that I was so hated, but the good guys couldn't waste the mob vote or a kill on me. Woo! Win for me!
Also, I'm really enjoying this pie. Yeerk Empire forever.

The lulz part is that they then went on to waste a vote on me which was alot more useless.
Jesus Toss it sounds like you're the one in the wrong here. It's perfectly understandable that he got subbed in too late for him to find out and then you got your panties in a twist because you revealed yourself too early.

This was my first Phalla, and I really enjoyed it. I might play again if I can get behind the theme.
As for game mechanics, obviously the fact that Jake had to be rebalanced at all leaves something to be desired. Wouldn't it have made more sense that he could acquire a power a day and keep it, but from the list of acquired powers he could only use one a day? It seems neither of the versions that were used were entirely fair.
The conversion mechanic, as others stated, was great and really helped with the atmosphere. I wish Erek had been infested, since that would have added another layer to the game. The fact that we couldn't free someone might have had something to do with the balancing issues. If we could free someone, one day to free them would make more sense than three (like in the books), though it might be considered a little too easy. Perhaps there should have been an Aftran or Tidwell character, who could bring Yeerks and Controllers over to the good guys.
The last narration was, as always, excellent. This one especially was very touching, I like the way it ended with an Animorph army being formed.
Goliath, I think, did an especially good job at stirring things up. He was just too zealous. If you remember, right after his "reveal" the next few posts believed him and were ready to lynch CJ. It was the fact that he was responding to absolutely everyone that discredited him. I think if he weren't so adamant, he would have been more successful.
Yeah, but the fact that he was responding to everyone that discredited him at least made him succeed at pissing me the fuck off. Oh god I was so angry haha.
Well watching this from the outside it seems to me like the only thing needed to balance this a little better would be to put a caveat on guarding that if you are guarding someone you can't be guarded. (Like the HP phalla did Protego). And/or say Jake can only get powers from other morphers.
Still this was a great one to follow along. Wish I had signed up, but I would have been away for two days.

Being over-adamant about anything gets you killed.
Also: Am I the only one that thought the conversion mechanic in the game was FUBAR'd?
EDIT: Yeah, I think that nev has had the best guard mechanic I've seen so far. With the caveat that you can't guard someone who is guarding.

I dunno it seemed almost balanced to me, I think something that would have made it a bit less of a headache for the good guys would be the ability to protect more versus it (like specials guards that only guarded versus it) and mayby the ability to turn people back would have made it more dangerous for the bad guys so they would have had parts of the same uncertainty the good guys felt.

Was there a particular aspect of it you think was bad, or are you just 100% against conversion in general?
And NATIK, you think the good guys needed more guardians.. or what? I am a little confused by your post.
As it stood, at the end of turn 5(?), if Green had not changed Jake's power to one ability per turn (?), and not allowed double-guarding, there was no way the yeerks could have won. I mean, technically it was the double-guarding that screwed us over. The multiple abilities per turn is really good, but we would've taken Jake or the Elimist if only one could be guarded, since there was a turn (4 or 5), where both got hit with something.
Well it seems like people think Cassie also had a guard, but got nailed in the first round. So the good guys were down one guard from the start. Looks like they could have had 3 guards at once, if that hadn't happened.
EDIT: In response to NATIK saying good guys needed more guards.
EDIT2: Actually 4 guards if Jake had acquired her power too.

Well I just finished writing my 1,490 word narration. 4 pages long. It's a little tripe and hackneyed because I could fill up a book with this shit so shortening is hard, but I'm not going to make any apologies for my writing.
