so, just ran into this post over at Newsarama:
Marvel Comics has provided Newsarama with the following cover to Amazing Spider-Man #545, with only the following text as additional information:

"The End Of An Era.

    I think the shard-holder is Brigand, the thief from Dr Strange: The Oath. One of the One More Day covers shows Strange getting involved at least for one issue. Plus thieves and loved ones never really mixed very well when it comes to Peter's life.

    Anyway, fuck Marvel if they make me choose between my fanboy principles and picking up Dan Slott on ASM. Still holding out hope that it's all been Joe Q misdirection. But I am insane. For instance, I also think Jackpot is Kristy. Yes, from 80's era Spider-Man. I mean, Dan Slott created her, and he's the only other one crazy enough to remember that.

    BTW - those red hands? Popular opinion is it's of the Spider-Man costume seen in the future from earlier in the JMS run.

    Mary Jane will die, and Spiderman will wear an even blacker suit, one made from the fabric inside of a black hole. After a few months of listening to Fallout Boy and Linkin Park, Spidey will wake up next to MJ and wonder wtf is going on. We will find out that it's all a ploy by Scarlet Witch to try and restore things how they used to be, and she's nuts now, so gas prices will go down and milk will never go bad. All hero teams will break up under the pressure of trying to be "cool". House of World War Witch Disassembled will change the Marvel universe forever!

    Really, though. Spidey's life has never been good, why do people constantly want to fuck up his day?

    I would love if Marvel pulled the greatest swerve of all time and just had three issues of slice of life stories about Spider-Man and MJ, just hanging out and watching TV, paying bills, getting some Burger King. That kind of stuff. Then on the last page he wakes up and says, "Ah, it's a brand new day."

    Then when you turn the book over and look at the back cover it's a picture of Quesada giving you the finger while lighting a cuban cigar with a hundred dollar bill.

    I think Joe's issue with Parker being married is that it makes him harder for young boys (who are typically not married themselves) to identify with Peter since marrige is so very "adult" (despite the examples shown on Court TV daily).

    Storm being married is fine since there are not alot of white haired african american girls out there pumping millions of dollars into Marvel.
