DS lite - Gear

Okay, here's the short of it. I might sell my old DS and the pouch. I might get a DS lite.
What I want to know is what gear do I need? I know I need a pouch to keep the bastard clean, but beyond that do I need anything else?
The best thing I could find was a 17 in one pack for around 30€. (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Lite-Bundle-Pak-Silver/dp/B000H9A1IA Is the best link I could find for it)
Does anyone know if it's a good deal? Are the products of decent quality and so on.
Help appreciated.

I'd recommend you stick with companies who are licensed by Nintendo to produce accessories, otherwise you could end up with something of really shoddy quality.

Hori is considered the best company for everything. Cases, screen protectors, stylii... Some of their stuff is available via Amazon, and the rest you can import via the usual spots.

Thanks for the help, but I still need one more thing :D
Can anyone link to a good puch with good room for game cartridges?
I'll probably order from play-asia since most people seem to worship it, but they are not very descriptive with their descriptions D: The hard pouch sounds like the best one because it supports enough games (I expect to be having 4 DS games and 1 GBA game not in the DS :p)

is there a strap out there for DS's? I've seen a few people in public with them, but sadly have yet to find them being sold in stores.

I got a thumbstrap with my first DS, I do hope the Lite has one as well.
I can't use the stylus in metroid D:

You don't get one with the Lite. Keep the one from the DS Phat (that's what I did).

I get a sock, and put my DS in it.

It doesn't get scratched, and when my DS is in use the sock isn't some big carry case I need to worry about, it'll fit easily in any pocket.
    Plus I am cheap

If you are however not cheap and like irony, the PSP slip-case is a perfect fit for a DS lite.

You're forgetting the bonus of putting the sock in your pants rather than in your pocket!

    Sir, I like your idea!

I got mine free, I was taking some kids from the kids group I ran at church bowling (I wasn't bowling myself) but they give out free socks incase you need them for bowling shoes, I asked for some and got some. They are perfect DS size.

I needed a case and a bivolt charger when I bought my ds so I decided to buy a pack, since it cost less tha a case and charger separated. It had a nice case that offers some protection from it being tossed around when it is in my bag while still being small enough to carry on my pants pockets if I need to, it also had a car charger and I can say that if you travel a lot that thing can be a life saver. Other than that I haven´t put much use to the rest of the stuff in the pack. It also had a sock and I tried to use it for a while but I prefer the case and its extra protection, so now I use it to store my games and headphones when I´m traveling.

if you're looking for a good case, avoid these 37-in-1 things at all cost.

it's pricey ($40), but i cannot suggest Waterfield's DS Lite case enough. i'm sure i've touted it here a number of times before.

the urban life style cases on play asia also look pretty good, and they're cheap too

So the Lite doesn't come with a thumbstrap? That's pretty weak. Can you buy them from somewhere as I'm likely to sell my old DS to someone I know, and he knows that there should be a strap.

I just use my GBA carrying case. The Phat was a snug fit, but the Lite fits perfectly.

Plus, loads of room for my cartridges and headphones.

Ya it's pretty weak. I imported a white ds lite before they made it here, that came with a white wrist/thumb strap.

Has anyone actually bought that new DS headset for voice chat? I saw it and tried to think which games actually allow for voice chat. Is it just Metroid and the two Pokemons?

If you go to Walmart/Target, you can go to the sunglasses area and pick up a pair of micro-fiber sunglasses holders for $0.99. They are slightly larger than the typical Oakley ones, and can easily hold a PSP, so my Lite has no problem fitting in there. DS Protected, while adding minimal volume....plus, they are great for cleaning. They also have that nice little drawstring to keep it secure.

Hardshell case for true protection. A pouch will keep it from getting scratches if you're carrying it around, but it won't do anything to protect it from hard trauma, like stepping on it.

Okay, so I'm looking for a cheap hardcase with support for 4-6 DS games, and good room for more stuff (USB charger and GBA games and some other stuff). That's no problem except it needs to be pretty cheap and from a place that ships to europe....
I'm gonna go look for one right now :D

Does anyone have an opinion of the official DS Lite earphones Hori makes? I can get the white ones cheaper than makes any logical sense for that type of thing, and they seem to get decent enough reviews. Has anyone used them?

After reading that review, and seeing that using a coupon code from CAG got me a 12% discount on a $10.99 game case, I bought two.

Use the code "cagexclusive" to get the discount at checkout.

where you getting them from, I have been thinking about getting some earbuds for my ds. I look like a prick with my big sennheiser headphones plugged into my DS.

You can order them from amazon or half.com for about $1+shipping in the US, but only the white version which sucks since I have a black DS. I don't think they even make them in black for some reason. I guess at that price I'll just order them and see how well they work, since I can't find a review of them anywhere.

[Edit] These are the ones I'm looking at.
