first timer entering tournaments

hi,

I am wondering how quickly the slots for the tournaments fill up.

a few of us will be attempting to enter the Mario Kart Double Dash tournament... does anyone have any positive/negative input from prior experiences at PAX with the MK: DD tourny??

    well it all depends on the game. i'd play it on the safe side and get there a bit early to put your name down if i were you.

    and oh, yes, the DD tourney is bloody awesome. enter if you like fun. don't if you're a nazi

    last year I joined the UT2004 tourney and was placed in a one of the last pools for participants and I was supposed to move pools later but after about a hour of waiting and listening to people advance I got annoyed and left the tourney. (and I didn't miss my name because I was sitting next to the guy announcing the people that change pools.)

    I was driving some out-of-towner friends around, and I kept complaining about being blinded. They responded with "You see, where we come from, people tend to wear Sunglasses." I retorted with a simple "You people tend to have sun."

    Mario Kart tourney was easy to get into if you already had your teammate. If you were trying to enter solo you didnt get priority.

    Smash bros. tourney was filled up instantly.

    hey guys, thanks.

    I told the guys in my house about the MK: DD tournament. all four of us are showing up to play in the tournament. and yes we play like nazis.

    In my past experience I have been able to get into any tournament I want if I sign up within the first couple hours on Friday.
