Thought you guys might be interested to know that the CTS team won the recent World in Conflict tournament at Multiplay UK's i31 LAN event in Newbury, England. We were up against Team Dignitas and the aim was simply to survive for as long as possible. Most teams only managed about 4 minutes and none broke the 5 minute barrier except for CTS, who lasted a whole 7 minutes and 2 seconds!

There's a photo here of the team victorious, all kitted out in Obey The Tube t-shirts. The three guys in the tops covered in sponsorship logos are from Team Dignitas, and the two in red tops to the left are from Massive. The CTS team, from left to right and front to back, are Vincenoir, Commando, Skippas, Pemby and Juan.

Oh, and here's an action shot of us playing with the CTS himself on the back of our shirts. :)

The idea wasn't to beat Dignitas. Considering that they're basically current world champions (if such a thing can exist for a game still in beta), beating them would be a bit ambitious considering that two of our team hadn't even played the game two days before the tournament. The aim was simply to do as well as you could against them.

So, an RTS game that isn't even released yet, and already there are people out there who can kill you in under five minutes.

    Great.

    Still... you didn't really win.

You were just the best losers.

To be fair, everyone on PA is a massive loser.

At least these guys get paid for it.

So what did this number one team get for kicking everyone's asses?

I dunno, respect? :P To be honest, if they hadn't kicked everyone's asses I'd have been worried. I mean, these guys are sponsored by Intel, Creative and Corsair, among others. If they'd been beaten by some ad hoc team put together on the spur of the moment, two of whom only had a total of about 3 hours gametime all of which was at the event itself on Massive's computers, something would have been very very wrong.

Yeah, I'm constantly seeing them on the Xleague channel (wish they had more shows than just the stock three and constant repeats. Getting better though). They seem to be the most well advertised team in the UK. Well, as well advertised as a gaming clan can be in the UK anyway.
