Does open gaming require a badge?

Hello,

1) Are there rooms for open gaming late night at the convention center?

2) If there are, will you need a badge to access these areas?

Three of us have weekend badges but we're meeting a couple friends in Seattle who are not attending PAX. We'd like to have a nice big table to play some board games after dinner.

Thanks in advance.

A badge will be needed to get to all areas including open gaming areas.

Thanks for the info. The weekend pass is a great deal but the $30 one day pass is too high. That's more than 2 cases of beer! Maybe the hotels have some tables.

is there any update as to whether or not there will be an 'off hour' breakout room for Tabletop? I remember someone mentioning the possibility, and haven't heard anything really since then.

That wound up not happening. Too expensive--those hotel ballrooms are pricey. We'd have to charge for attendance and that goes against PAX's traditional "one badge, all access" vibe.
