Videogaiden returns for a third series!

They're an exception to the rule that video games television is awful.
They procuded the finest review of anything, ever, as frequently linked to by this forum:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBqB5LUKh8A

Now it appears that Gaiden have just had a third series confirmed:
http://gaiden.consolevania.com/?p=421#comments

This time with 21 episodes. Given they had 6 the last couple of times, that's quite an improvement.
Like the last two, it should hopefully be online here: www.bbc.co.uk/videogaiden after being broadcast

UPDATE: First episode is now online! Click the bottom link in this post.

    fuck yes

    bloody awesome.

Anyone who hasn't seen video gaiden/consolevania, it's like Top Gear but for games, not cars.

And it's funnier, even my non-gamer friends find it hilarious.

Thanks for bumping the thread; I stopped visiting Consolevania.com after the wretched fanbase shat themselves over C. What wonderful people replaced the entire BBC staff when this was commissioned, and why aren't they pulling stunts like that more often?

I just hope it's better than the last few episodes of consolvania were.. I get the joke they were tying to make, but it went on about 10 times longer than it needed to to be funny.

The only logical assumption I can make from your post is that you have some innate attraction to overweight Glaswegians.

    If so, what'cha doing tonight?;-)

"A wee fat man floating in space having the time of his life" is the best possible description of Mario Galaxy

Unless you're being exceptionally silly, Aethelred, it's safe to watch. In typical Videogaiden style, there are no spoilers (not even in the brief gameplay videos in the background). The review is "Mario Galaxy is beautiful and the best game ever," repeated for a couple of minutes, except the phrase gets increasingly wordy and gushing with each repetition.

LOL :D the idea of spoilers for a Mario game is akin to ruining the plot of tetris or pong having a twist at the end.

But i'm a total dick so I will spoil it for you
Mario killed peach and is lost in a mist shrouded world of his own personal hell; perused mercilessly by mysterious and rape-crazed "Turtle Head". After fighting a man full of killer bees and some androgynous freak who meows a lot you find Mario is indeed Big-Boss-Bowser and the president philates him before giving him a medal... Mario wakes up the next day realising it was all just a dream but also that a gang of crazed junkies have killed his wife and baby at which point he remembers he owns an automatic shotgun and the ability to slow down time. 2 levels later he stumbles into a mansion on Rhode island, discovering an evil and mysterious tomb bound in human flesh. A little investigating latter Mario realises it was not smack heads but agents of a corpse god that attacked his wife and child. This drives Mario utterly insane. He returns home to find his wife was only very badly wounded and unconscious but is now back at home after a short stint in hospital. The insane Mario believes her an undead agent of the corpse god and kills her with his plunger .. the game ends with Mario driving his car through a dark, forest road, at night as mists slowly start to descend.

It was a bit of a departure from the classic Mario formula and much more akin to Mario Sunshine in story and feel though after seeing the “Anal Fatality” scene you can see why it stole some headlines from Manhunt 2.

    :P

drunk people make me sad, especially in movies and tv.

Blunderbuss: I don't care about plot spoilers for Mario games, but I do care about gameplay spoilers. It's not as exciting playing through a visually imaginative level if you've already seen it gone through by someone else.
