It is a physically and mentally draining role — his Joker is a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy” he said cheerfully
Here too was his Joker diary, which he began compiling four months before filming began. It is filled with images and thoughts helpful to the Joker back story, like a list of things the Joker would find funny. (AIDS is one of them.) Mr. Ledger seemed almost embarrassed that the book had been spotted, as if he had been caught trying to get extra credit in school.

I can't fucking wait for this movie.

    Fucking yes.

    I loved the hell out of Batman Begins. This can't come soon enough. Also I kinda like Heath Ledger ever since A Knight's Tale.

    I was so excited when I heard a rumor that Phillip Seymour Hoffman was gonna be in this.

    But that ended up being false, which broke my heart a little.

    Still, though, it looks pretty killer.

    After Batman Begins, I had a pretty unshakable faith that The Joker would turn out awesome in the next movie, even when I first heard that Heath Ledger was going to play him.

    It's good to be vindicated.

    My first thought upon seeing that magazine cover was that I was really interested in seeing that first look at Transformers 2.
    I never really got into Batman.

    In the trailer shown at Wizardworld you see Eckhart with scarring on one side of his face, so there's a good chance he'll be Two-Face

    They were great at the time, but they are extremely dated now.

    They were more Burton films than they were Batman, anyway. Especially Returns.
