[PSN ID] ID Swapping and Warhawk Clanning

I've been itching to give warhawk a go, but playing with strangers isn't nearly as fun as fragging people from penny-arcade. Hence this topic so we can swap PSN IDs and get some warhawk going. Also, list if you have a headset or not just for general information purposes.

Also if you dont want to get a headset the playstation eye makes a fantastic mic, clear but it does pick up quite a bit too much back ground noise.

Just bought Warhawk yesterday, also own Resistance, should be online tonight to play for a few hours. Heck, I don't even know how game invites work on PS3 ? =o

Well game invites varry from game to game. Been a long time since I played resistance online, so can't realy say there. Warhawk is preaty passive about how it goes, you can set up servers of the locked and clan specific variaties. Also from the in game community tab, you can check out what games your buddies and clan mates are in and join from there.

About 70% of the games out there though use a simple ingame invitation message, all you have to do on those is go to the multiplayer section check the invite to join the game. When ingame xbm gets implimented that style will work alot easier.

Unless you speak of your friend list in that case go to the far right tab and add peeps and check messages. Also in settings > system settings: turn on notification messages if you want to know when a message hits your inbox.

ps: Until ingame xmb arives its good ettiquite to include as much detail in your subject line. That way some one with notifications on can get the basic idea of the message with out leaving theyre game.

Also, I suck at actually flying the Warhawks at the moment. It might be a good idea for people to list what games they do have as well, try and make this the general PSN thread? I tried the old COD4 thread but that's mainly Xbox live and a few PC players.

Oh man, I just took out a Warhawk with the rifle. He was trying to missle me, but hit the watchtower instead, dealing me minor damage while I fired erratically at him. He comes for a second pass right at me, and he had very little health left from a dogfight that he won (which was when I was firing at him). Within 10 feet of me, I finally manage to land a hit and he explodes.

That was awesome.

just picked up a bluetooth headset from staples for 14 99 on boxing day....yay..? havent tried it yet just got it...beat cod4 and uncharted and now im back to ff12 and warhawk (ive played like 2 hours of warhawk but its my new game until GTA4 comes out)

and yeah..listening to kids on cod4 and warhawk..they sound like 8 year olds with digitized voice it sounds awful...not sure if its just cell phone mics instead of the old 1/8 headphone jack mic jack or what....bf2 i used a proper headset that came with the game and it worked great...too bad i sit 10 feet away from the ps3

Is in-game xmb something thats supposed to be coming? Because in-game xmb would be amazing. Like, rival xbox live levels of amazing.

TSR, we already have a Warhawk clan, actually. I'm the leader of it. The problem is that I can't change leaders or invite anyone for a good 2-2.5 or so weeks, as my PS3 is broken and needs to be sent in to Sony. If you can hold off I can invite people to the clan that's already made once I get my PS3 back.

The clan I made is called Hawks are Weird, and there's a good bunch of people in it already.

They're tough but they do have a failure rate, just not as astornomical as other consoles.

For instance, I have a launch 60 and I leave it folding half the week while at work. No problems yet. Does that mean it will never break? Who knows, it's possible, but not realy concerned

Yeah, they can break. I think for the most part they're quite solid, but I guess I'm in the like 1% that has it break on them. I basically got the equivalent of the RRoD. Basically when I hit power it beeps 3 times and the light flashes red. I can't turn it on or even take my disc out or anything. It sucks because it happened just before the holidays, too, which means A) longer for them to ship me the damned box I have PS3 games from Christmas I can't play and C) Warhawk expansion I just bought I could only play for one day... And then there's the fact that ALL my gamesaves (PS2 and PS3) will be gone...

Holding down the power button does nothing. I've tried everything man, and it just doesn't work. I even found a fix online that said if you take out your HDD and then re-seat it the PS3 may come back on again. I've been trying everything because I just don't want to lose all those saves... I'm losing hundreds of hours worth of shit, but I guess there's no way to get it back. I guess I just need to put a sappy note in with my PS3 asking Sony nicely to please put my data on my new PS3, but that probably won't work

Out of the 80 guys I communicate with daily who have PS3's, we've had 2 failures so far, I believe both were disc reading errors.

Edit: To get your saves back... it's really easy. Just pull the old HDD out before you send it in.

Not realy. When the ps3 gets a new hard drive it auto formats it.

Yeah, this is what I've heard too. And I've also heard that Computers can't read the PS3 data, so I can't even try and pull off the saves or anything onto a computer while I wait for my box.

You can only do this if your PS3 can turn on. You see, that's my problem. My PS3 will not turn on, and thus I can't plug in any USB device to get the saves.

Hmm... I'm wondering if I really can't just keep my HDD when I send in the PS3, and then put that HDD into a USB drive case and take the saves off of that. Anyone have a clue if Sony will let me keep my HDD?

Not really, no. I switched to them for a bit, and was immediately put off.

Same here, as well as 360 demo units for quite some time. Most of the PS3 units are enclosed in a pretty small space which makes me think it is the design much more than the system. Still, it is a monumentally stupid design for a kiosk.

I wouldn't know for sure, but I think this is just the demo unit's screensaver. It freezes on a screen in game. I went up to one once pressed teh start button and the unit came to life.
