I was also looking at a new Jeep Unlimited. The local dealer near my house has a Willy's model with the lift kit and aftermarket rims and tires for under $36k.
Believe it or not, the new 08 Ford Taurus are really nice looking cars. I was amazed. It's like they actually tried to engineer something that wasn't god awful this year.
Not sure I'd drive it, but still, not bad for the price.
also "olol amurrican cars r teh suk u shuld drive a civic cuz amerricun cars are alwys brok" sorry, I just don't care for the look or feel. Call it personal preference.

I do however, come from a UAW family.
That, and frankly, I just don't like the "imports". Even those that aren't imported, I just don't like them. Jay has a 2008 Accord, I don't like it. He loves it, which great, good for him. I wouldn't like it.
Another friend has a new Nissan something or other, I don't like it.
Another one has a new Camry. Don't like it.
I'm tall and I want to be comfortable dammit. I also want a vehicle that responds when I say go.
Personally I'd rather do a CTS or Malibu (both receiving incredibly high scores from many sources) but dunno if either of those would work for you
I would love too, but I agreed with Summer to keep the payment at around 500 a month.
A CTS, with the options I want, would run me into 550+
