Harpooned is a free pc game which I developed with Torque Game Builder. You take on the role of a Japanese scientist and your mission is to perform research on the whales around Antarctica.

Greenpeace are in the game, and so is Sea Shepherd. It's very hard to avoid shooting them with harpoons - just like in real life

You need to keep your multiplier up by chaining lots of meat. Don't collect the meat as soon as it appears - hit all the whales down to low hitpoints, then gather lots of meat at once and you'll get a big cash bonus.

Page - there are 2 combo levels higher than Mega Scientific, see if you can get above 70 chain to see the best one. My best is a 120 chain, got that on level 1 once.

I think I'm going to have to patch that in. I never expected that would be a required gameplay feature while I was designing it.

It's a fairly new phenomenon. There was always some tension, but it has got out of control since the 2ch brigade decided it was their patriotic duty to target Australians for their anti-whaling stance.
So now, any anti-whaling Youtube video is sure to receive some anti-Australian comments (or a rebuttal video) from the 2ch mob.
Also, there was a rather shocking Japanese Youtube video which attacked Australians, claiming (amongst other things) that Australia is only upset at Japan's whaling because Australians are xenophobic. The justification for this claim is that that Australia had racist Government policies in the early-to-mid 20th century. Oh, the irony.
Really, it's no different to the animosity between Australia and France in the late 1980s and early 1990s over French nuclear testing in the Pacific. The only difference is that the ubiquity of the Web nowadays helps to make it more visible. In the 80s and 90s, outraged people just wore anti-France t-shirts. Now, they can post on Youtube.
MAkes me wonder whether the presence of an outlet like this is actually a good thing or a bad thing...
