PAX 2007 DVD - ON SALE NOW (Trailer on Page 4!)

I just got a PM from Phanman asking about the PAX 2007 DVD and figured I'd just answer it here, since he's probably not the only one wondering what is up with it.

There are three main components to the DVD - the "documentary" portion, the Keynote / Gabe/Tycho Panels and the Concerts. The "documentary" portion was done by Rocco and the guys at Mega 64, and to be honest I've had the final version in hand for months... he did an amazing job with it. The Gabe/Tycho Panels and the Concerts are being edited and the audio is being mixed. I wish i could make the process faster, but there's a lot of back and forth so it takes a lot of time.

Expected release date? Man, I'd love for it to hit the PA Store in the Spring. Maybe earlier.

Some guy.

I guess I'll pick it up at PAX then, knowing Belgium's fine postal service, I'll have it sooner if I buy it at PAX, than if I buy it through the website on the releasedate.

    Thanks for the info.

Agreed. I was a fan of Coulton before PAX.

E: Also, his interactions with the camera were absolutely amazing.

Coulton was amazing. I had one of his albums before PAX started, I bought the rest from his website the moment I got home. That concert would be one of the main reasons why I'd get the dvd.

a: Those camera stops could be covered up through oddly placed clips, because the audio would likely be recorded elsewhere. I don't think that a real crew would record a concert on a camera mic, because the density of the sound itself would destroy the quality of the recording. Hopefully there was a camera elsewhere, at the back of the concert hall or something.

b: I thought the NESkimos played a set of covers they hadn't done before, rather than their own songs?

The NESkimos traveled back in time and wrote those songs before the games they were on came out.

Luckily I think they have the entirety of the Oneups (which were fucking awesome), Freezepop, Jonathan Coulton and MC Frontalot. That is awesome enough for me to get over the fact that a significant portion of video footage will be missing from the Minibosses.

I want this DVD for 2 reasons.

#1 - Obviously the concerts, I mean who doesn't want all that awesomeness on DVD?
#2 The panels. I got to see some of them but I missed quite a few panels I wanted to see because I simply couldn't be in more than one place at a time.

True, the audio is mixed diffrently from the video. It's live Event Production 101.

True, but interest increases 450% when people watch a slow-motion shot of Khoo drinking Bawls in the 2004 DVD.
