Yeah I mean I'm not a bodybuilder or a certified instructor or whatever, sure. I'm not an authority on the topic. But "buttfuck nothing" is inaccurate, and decline bench was in my routine for like two or three years. I just didn't think there was really anything to say about it, since, I mean, it ain't rocket science, you just push the bar toward the ceiling and try not to drop it on your neck.

also anyone have tips on the decline bench press, doing it for the first time tomorrow

Well, this might be too late, but

Make sure you're not doing the rep (or any part of it) with your traps. It's really easy to do decline reps as reverse-shrugs, but that won't help your lower pecs any. Do it with low enough weight that you can really push the iron with your pecs and contract them forcefully at the peak of the movement. I find I can do about 85% of my flat bench on the decline without starting to push part of the load to my traps.

Remember to breath, because decline presses increase blood and intracranial pressure more than flat or incline presses do. No fucking valsalva.

    dammit, typo. Tips.

The tip would be to do dips instead

    I'm doing dips too, dumbass.

Tube, Mr Rippetoe said doing decline presses are for dumb-butts and that dips are all you need.

I get my license back in 9 days.

    You know what happens then?

I can finally start my full transformation.

I can finally go to the gym every morning to run a couple miles before school, I can stay at the gym longer then I do now so I can run a couple more miles after my weightlifting. And I can go to the gym to run every day.

I can finally start shedding this fat.

    I'm so excited.

And for clarification, by run I mean elliptical. I'm either too big, or my joints are two weak, or a combination of both, that running outside makes my ankles cramp up and it hurts.

So all my 'running' has to be done at the gym on an elliptical, and since I can only go when my friend goes my schedual revolves around his whim.

So that shits about to end and I can finally work out like I want to work out.

I quite like declines not because I can push more but because I find it really opens out my pecs more.

Really besdies what necro said really watch your stance when you set up, I find if you have shitty feet position when you start you tend to slip down a bit when you first take the weight and it's highly annoying (and probably really unsafe)

I just got a new tub of ON Whey from Vitamin King. I have searched high and low for ON Whey in Perth, and I cannot find it anywhere.

From what I've seen, Vitamin King have the cheapest ON Whey for us Aussies.

It sucks balls that we can't import it, without a risk of it getting seized. It would save us so much money.

The scale at the gym said I gained two pounds.
I told the scale to fuck off and I stayed at the gym until I lost the pounds.
    Took about two hours.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good ab workout program.
I've been using the Ab boot camp one that was posted here a while ago, but I think my body has gotten quite used to it, and I need to change it up.
    Any suggestions?

sorry if this is a buzzkill, but i'm just letting you know, the 2 pounds you lost was just water weight.

OTC asthma medication is epinephrine, so it's still readily available

just don't buy it in bulk in person or your house will probably get raided by the local drug squad

and I've heard of green tea extract being used in place of straight caffeine

I'm guessing this stuff is not good while you are attempting a cardio regime.

    Man I've tried metabolism boosters.

Gave me headaches made me feel like shit three hours after taking them and chest pains.

Currently I'm doing my squating every second day routine and eating shitloads and I've still managed to lose weight.

Back when I first began hitting the gym about four weeks ago now I was barely able to clock in a mile and a quarters worth of distance without having to take a walking break on the treadmill, and only putting up about two and a half miles total in a 31 min run.

Now I can run the first two miles even on my worst days and my break is short enough that I can still get over the 3 mile mark before I hit my cooldown ( I started by running at 6 mph). On a good day like today I don't need to stop at all. Now its time to start working in some speed increases, lengthen the run and maybe a bit of incline.

And I suppose I have to start jogging out in the real world soon, but I don't want my precious treadmill fantasy numbers to be shattered just yet.

    Man, I fucking hate running.
