The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
This will be my first season of Lost watched on TV. The previous three were all DVD.
I'm preparing myself for when the 5-second blue balls turn into week-long blue balls.
it sucks.
but I feel the worst for people who started when I did. watching seasons 1 and 2 over 06 summer and then viewing the first 6 episodes of season 3 which were, in my opinion, among the worst the series has had. rough times.
Hooray for the impending return. Here's hoping the strike doesn't fuck up the quality of season 4...I'm not as concerned about seeing all 16 episodes without a break, I can get over that...just hope they don't end up rushing through the last 8 episodes or something to try and get them filmed in time or whatever...assuming the strike even ends soon I guess. I see they are doing one of those 'Past, Present, and Future' wrap-up shows right before the premiere. While those usually leave out a LOT of stuff (seriously, how could you wrap up the entire show so far in one hour) they're at least good for getting you to focus on the things that will be most important for the start of the season.
yah, now that you mention it, I do remember something like that. Still, I don't put it past the studio execs to try and tack on the last 8 eps. if they strike a deal w/ the wga soon, which would probably turn out shitily.
However, if ABC's video player doesn't work for you - and it doesn't seem to be working for a lot of us - you'll have to download the .flv or something.

I just did that. Wish I could do it for the full episodes ;-)

I don't remember reading that, only seeing rumors of it online, so I am still assuming we'll see episodes 9-16. they said 16 episodes a season, 3 more seasons was what they needed and were given to finish the story... it would be shitty if they didn't get that.

At the end of the eighth episode, is there any sense of conclusion whatsoever?
It’s as much of a conclusion as, say, Ana-Lucia and Libby getting shot.
Wow. Really?
Yes. And you’d be, like, oh my god, I can’t believe I have to wait another year and two months for episode nine of this season.
I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.
And since I co-opted this thread, I'm also going to establish spoiler rules. No spoiler tags necessary for the first three seasons. People who haven't seen those seasons shouldn't be reading a thread labeled "Spoilers inside".
Please spoiler tag anything that pertains to episodes that not everybody has had a chance to see yet. This includes known facts about future episodes (though not random speculation) and information about episodes that haven't yet aired for us poor bastards on the west coast.

so the two hour premiere is that including the re-cap or is it one hour for the re-cap and two hours for the show?
a two hour show if I'm understanding the promos they've been running correctly
Yea thats what I thought as well, but upon looking at ABC.com it says a recap at 8/7 and the actual show at 9/8, which I am hoping that the actual premiere is two hours long.

two hour premier event is what the commercial said. I'd expect an hour preshow thing and an hour show.

Has anyone been watching those LOST mini-sodes?
The latest one is all kinds of trippy.

They always build shit up, every fucking time. Sometimes it turns out to be something amazing and big, often times not.

Tomorrow at 9 EST. Clip-show is at 8 EST, and if anyone is interested they're showing the 2-hour finale tonight at 9 EST.

I came to report this also. Good idea I think, clever and informative so far.

Sooo good
Man, if that isn't the greatest season finale, I don't know what is.
Tops season 1 in my book
it was like WHAT?
Not as good as the Season 1 or 2 Battlestar finales but it is right up there

Fuck them for not making this better known to me.
I would set that to my background if not for the fact I would want to hurl myself off a building every time I saw it.
