The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I'm looking for a group to road trip with, along with one other person. Unfortunately, we're lacking in wheels, and a Zipcar isn't going to cut it for going cross country.
Anyone else in the area interested?
(I don't know about the other colleges in the area, but Brown doesn't start until after PAX, so no worries there!)

Hi, welcome to the forums. We have this thing we do, it's called the Cross-Country Supertrip. It's been called the longest non-military caravan by a few people and we have people joining us from all over the country and parts of canada. Why don't you check us out. http://forums.penny-arcade.com/showthread.php?t=46037
Very soon our website will launch with tools to help people find others in their area to ride with.

Also, since we haven't scheduled anything out of the Boston area yet, if you do decide to join us, I will make a schedule for the Boston/Rhode Island area, so don't worry about how you're going to get to the nearest waypoint.
Trust us, this will be our third year doing this, and my scheduling is damn near perfect.

Yeah, Moe only fears Montana.
I would say Moe doesn't fear Montana... just despises it with every ounce of his soul.

Yeah, but can you blame him? Montana is a horrid state to drive through. I know this, and I've only driven half way into it.

Oh you don't have to tell me about it. I think that I'm #2 or 3 in total drive time in Montana for the CCST.

I wish. It's called montana because there's lots of mountains. Mountains that make most of the terrain unlivable (giving to very small cities and a mostly rural population), and the highways have to wind around the mountains since Montana is too cheap to tunnel through everything. It's also a very wide state. These factors make it take 15 hours to cross, most of it at night. When we drive through Montana, we'll get there before sunset on Wednesday and won't get out until about 7 or 8 am Thursday.
The bf and I briefly considered road tripping from Boston and meeting up with the Jersey crew in PA but in the end we decided to fly out (mostly because I have no car and he isn't willing to risk it with his less-than-new Buick).

Man, Buicks are tanks, I took my 96 century in 06 and it was solid as a rock.
On another note, I'm locking this thread up since it's diverged from the original topic (which should have been in the CCST thread anyway) and the original poster hasn't returned to the board since he made this thread.
