Why is there bourbon and rum in the ice in the OP?
You'll have to ask my roommates, I was drinking the Vodka.
I was there with Mike when he bought the bourbon and rum. The state run liquor store was like entering the library of alcohol, and I guess we felt like we should get something from each category. I stuck to those hard lemonades we got at AM/PM anyway.
The hard stuff is in the state liquor store, but beer and stuff you get at the normal store in Washington. IE you can't go to one place and get both.

That doesn't really answer as to why either of those bottles was on ice. Those aren't the types of liquor you keep on ice. Also, while washington state liquor stores are like libraries of liquor, Happy Harry's Bottle Shop in Fargo, ND is like the supermarket of alcohol.

I thought you were asking why we would have burbon and rum in the first place, not pointing out we're noobs.
I don't know alcohol at all. The reason probably is that whoever put it there didn't know either.

This is why I said ask them.
I remember asking why they were doing that.
But you know....

Not the normal Vodka I would buy, but something that went well.
The Wife and I are planning , well hoping, to bring a bottle of bourbon and a bottle of brandy per night. And we have many, many micro-brews in the area we are thinking of grabbing a case from each and bringing along.
And I heard talk of Everclear, which I can get locally for like, $10 for a 1.5 liter bottle if anyone wants us to transport.
As Lewis Black says, we hijack our liquor trucks here.

Some Seattle grocery stores will be offering FREE samples of beer and wine!

Hmmmmm....I might be taking you up on that. It's a little tough to get the real deal and I do so love limoncellos on those hot (85 degrees) Portland summer days. ;-)

Uh, if I recall correctly, you're the one who said "Hey, put everything in the tub for a picture!" and we just never took it out again. Remember? I wanted to keep my Jack for the train. :P

I remember wanting to take the photo, but Mike was the one who said that. Him, one of his crew, Arron(I think) and me were taking photos of the tub.

I wish we had a photo of the whole party drinking and playing Tetris DS

I keep a bottle of Capt Morgan's Private Stock in my freezer. I know its not how youre "supposed" to drink it, but I like it better that way.

Private Stock is both tasty and dangerous. Looking at the bottle though, there should be something on there that says "the Official Rum of Pirates" or something of the sort, because I really do feel like a pirate when I drink it.
especially later on when I can't stand up because the floor keeps moving
There should also be a warning on those bottles: keep out of reach of Rock Band drummers.
The sitting down and the focusing on the screen elements and the drunk all combine to turn you (and by you, I mean me) into a stereotypical stumbling inebriate should you have to stand up.

Alcohol makes me play crappier, sing more (note: I should not be allowed to sing), and be more inclined to play crappy songs (thankfully I haven't gotten drunk enough to say "Let's play Fall Out Boy!" without sarcasm)...

Anyway, I will be bringing up some good ol' Texas alcohol to share with my fellow PAXers:
Alright, so, I work at a liquor store in the bay area. A nice one at that, I think we have something like 300 different types of beers, and crazy amounts of hard liquors and wines. So basically, people need to start listing things they are looking for. Ohh, and its really cheap at my store too.
Any of the Rogue beers are crazy expensive here in Oregon. Most places it is $10+ for a six-pack. Is it that pricy everywhere else too or are we just getting screwed?
Anyone fans of Tiki Bar TV? It's been my new years resolution to drink all the drinks from that show, and I'm already about a third through the list. I'll be pre-mixing and bringing some favorites, and I'll be bringing rudimentary ingredients to make some on sight.
I'd be more than happy to mix anything from the show. The volcano is pretty fantastic, but I would recommend creating it in a place that's cool with fire...

I tiki bar, but I've yet to actually create/consume any of the drinks from it.

Not sure about that, we have bigger bottles(24oz?) for like $2-3

Raslin, where's this liquor store? I haven't found a good one yet, mostly because I can get wine/liquor from the supermarket out here. But I'm in dire need of a good beer place. So long as it's not in the east bay I'd like to check it out.

Liquor stores in Washington don't sell beer. The QFC about a half-mile from the PAX-zone, however, does sell beer.

East bay, concord
Also have stores in lafayette and moraga, but I usually work in the concord one.
Alright, so I'll probably bring some local brew, likely Colonial Wheat Ale from the Williamsburg Alewerks, and a bottle of Cirrus Vodka.
How, when, and where are we going to share our delicious local alcohol? Who else is bringing quality quaffables?

I will be bringing The Balvanie 15 year single malt, single casket scotch for my fellow scotch drinkers (looking at you Imperfect). I would like to bring some local beer, except a) I don't know how carbonated items will travel well from Florida and b) the only local beer that comes to mind is Land Shark, and that's made by Budweiser, I assume it exists elsewhere.
The only local alcohol I find consistently good is Sky River Mead, which I plan on buying a case before PAX. I hear a lot about the quality of WA wines, but I've yet to find one I thought of as anything more than 'tolerable' or 'mediocre'.
I'll probably also bring some nihonshu (sake) to PAX, probably Momokawa's nigori genshu as it's flavor and strength will probably appeal to PAX boozehounds. I might balance it out with a decent kimoto.
Ill bring more if I can think of anything else....
Shiner Black is where it is at. I got a keg of it special order from Shiner for my BDay and it was the best weekend ever. Tito's on the other hand is some of the worst vodka I have ever had for the price. You wanna fancy it up, get some Chopin which is real potato vodka.
But yeah, again, if anyone is looking for particular alcohol(particularly beer), let me know. My store has over 500 different kinds of beer, and I get a 20% discount on it.

Shit that reminds me, what brand of Vodka did you have on the train trip on the way up?
