Hi guys, I was just wondering if any GURPS games were likely at the tabletop area, since I've just started getting into it. If not, what are the most common gaming systems used?
Thanks,
Richard

Fine. Stick with your elves and wizards rubbish. Doesn't it get boring, though, rolling up the same characters day after day? Wouldn't you rather try and make a real person than a "Level 5 Wizard" with practically the same abilities as everyone else with that character?
Meh.

answer the man's question. what the hell's a GURP?
GURPS - Generic Universal Role-Playing System, by Steve Jackson Games.
A general set of rules that can be applied to any milieu, to create any kind of character the player wishes (based on Skills, Advantages, Quirks etc.) to a certain point cost, rather than railroading them into classes.

Why is it that everyone I've ever met who advocates GURPS has to stick up for it, like it's been somehow oppressed by the other gaming systems of the world? Dude, accept that your system is not for everyone and move on.
Now, this said: Reserve a table and maybe people will play with you. Roleplay is roleplay, be it D&D, GURPS, Call of Cthulhu, or Empire of the Petal Throne.
Hmmm.. will anyone be running a CoC game at PAX? That would be sweet.
i have been reading gurps WWII stuff but only for the history (not to many places can you find a comparative chart of all the guns used in world war two).
