What the fuck... you might as well line up anyone in Washington who advocates harsher penalties for pedophiles or putting an end to child pornography and say, "You're all pedophiles!". What is the deal with all of these phonies being exposed recently...
I usually do not care what politicians,or anyone for that matter, do in their private life, as long as it is legal, but the whole fact that he rolled up 2 prostitution rings and makes my hypocrite senses tingling intensely.
Read an article on the whole emperor's club. The name was right on the money: prices were up to $31000 a day (!). I wonder how in hell did the clients expected (and did) keep those charges hidden from their wifes. Expense for 'special' cushions ? Also did those prostitutes' vaginas cure cancer for those prices ?

So what do relatively young, disgraced former governors do with their time? I'm thinking 'consultant'.
Get some hookers and some blow?
I meant when they got out of office, not how.
So did I. Hookers would certainly help him pass the time.
Although I doubt he could afford his $5k an hour girl for long without an income. Unless he gets to keep his pension. Do they strip elected officials of that in New York for this sort of thing? I know Illinois does and that the Fed's don't, although I'm not sure what we do if there isn't a conviction and charges are reduced for whatever he bargains with. Being a John isn't that terrible a crime and if they drop the interstate sexings charge he wouldn't be committing a felony.
and apparently he keeps is senate seat too which is just bizarre
Well I haven't been this interested in local politics since Ned Lamont won and Lieberman jumped ship. At least there's that.

No, I think the power passes to the Lt gov, David Paterson, who would be the nation's 4th black governor over all, 2nd active, and I'm probably right in saying first legally blind major office holder. Steps forward in equality abound!
If Spitzer paid for Kristen to travel from New York to Washington to perform sexual acts for money, as is alleged in the affidavit, the governor could be found violation of federal law. The Mann Act makes it a federal offense to take someone across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.

He could start a legal brothel in Nevada.
Not unless he wants to get whacked by Dennis Hof.
I'm kidding. AFAIK, he's one of the few pimps around who isn't a thug or a mobster. That doesn't mean I think he's a good guy. He still exploits people (the tricks and the johns). He just doesn't hold a shotgun to their heads or kidnap them from South America/Indochina.

Seriously, what was he thinking?
Honestly, the Mann Act is kinda bullshit. It's a Jim Crow-era law that they dig up when they want to throw the book at prostitution rings. Unless someone is kidnapped and forced into prostitution (in which case there are other, better charges to use), what's the difference if a prostitute crosses state lines or stays home?
Bit of trivia, tha Mann Act was originally called the "White-Slave Traffic Act of 1910." So considerate of of the government to crack down on all the white slavery forty-five years after the Civil War.

He sickens me because he runs his operation like Amway. But that's mostly just because blatant corporate capitalism leaves me sick to my stomach.
I wonder how many effigies are burning on Wall St today. they loathe spitzer down there.
There was apparently cheering on the floor of the stock exchange when the news broke.
Which is kind of horrible, actually. His wife gets publicly humiliated and his kids have to deal with this mess. Yeah, a real reason to cheer . Then again, if I were a floor trader, maybe I'd be into schadenfreude a little more.

Twenty years later, Mario Cuomo doesn't look so corrupt, does he?

Wait, what?
That's what happens when you lead a self-righteous crusade acting like your closet is skeleton-free.
Oh man, that would make a great Av...

Note to self: shop domestic.

This is going to empower Bruno and make everything shittier.
And yeah, I think prostitution should be legal. Black markets do nobody but the guys on top any good.

Well yeah, he fucked a hooker.
The Wall Street people tried to fuck everybody with all that late trading stuff.
He got ripped off by a hooker, man. $5500 a night? Ouch.
