In other news, that might be bad for Clinton, Ferraro fires back.
"Any time anybody does anything that in any way pulls this campaign down and says let's address reality and the problems we're facing in this world, you're accused of being racist, so you have to shut up," Ferraro said. "Racism works in two different directions. I really think they're attacking me because I'm white. How's that?"

Jesus. The remaining respect I had for Geraldine Ferraro just evaporated. Clinton would have to be galactically stupid not to ask for her resignation now.
Video unavailable for the second link. As a white dude who thinks people can be racist against whites, I think that's a heck of a butthole thing to say in that context.

Politically it kind of pays off for Hillary for an establishment white female, who denies being racist, to actively race bait Obama. It makes all the stupid white people feel justified in asking "I'm not racist, but what's the deal with this black guy? huh?"
It's sort of like people who say "I'm not racist, I was just raised to call them 'n*****' and I don't see why I should change. I'm not racist."
So anybody know why I cant get a hold of that video, or that article (from that last thread) about Ferraro's comment? I mean is it ok that think that the clinton campaign is somehow behind it?
Ok so there have been a lot of people from the clinton campaign accused of being racist? Really? Really? And this woman thinks that Axelrod should ask her to fund raise for him? You must be joking.

From her video she is a fox news person (which is scary) and she'll say what she wants to say. So basically she'll sling mud as she sees fit and you can't stop her bullshit train.

Sigh. She was the Democratic Party's VP nominee in 1984 and a member of Senator Clinton's finance committee. She just goes on Fox News because not all the Democrats have gotten the Fox News is teh biased.

The idea that your vote is a moral statement about you or who you vote for is some backwards ass libertarian nonsense. Your vote is about society. Vote to protect the vulnerable.

i think it'd be awesome if obama turned around and asked hillary to be his running mate, since he's winning right now and all

Early Mississippi exit polling shows that Clinton supporters in Mississippi do not like Barack Obama. 72% of Clinton voters would be unsatisfied if Obama is the Democratic nominee.
Obama wins the young and (barely) loses the old: 65 years of age and older: Clinton 56%, Obama 44%
17-29 years of age: Obama 67%, Clinton 32%
Mississippian's like the dual ticket... Six in 10 Obama voters said he should pick Clinton for vice president if he wins the nomination; four in 10 Clinton voters said she should pick Obama as her running mate if she wins.
...but think Obama is more qualified. 53% felt Obama is more qualified to be commander-in-chief, 43% felt Clinton was more qualified to be commander-in-chief

At this point you should be backpedaling so hard on your offensive campaign so the democrats might have a chance at the whitehouse, not acting like you have anything to offer me whatsoever."
Damn CNN is doing clintons work for her. In their article about the Mississippi primary today they mention that Jesse Jackson won 45% of the vote once.

What a stupidly worded poll-question. If you ask people during the primaries that, of course they'll say no. I wouldn't read too much into it.

No I wasn't saying that, just saying that she appears on Fox news (even in the video mentioning shes a corespondant for them, so one of their supposed experts). With Rush Limbaugh pushing for Clinton, her fox news credentials and her opinions seem a little fishy.

I think what she said is a reflection about what a lot of the older, white women behind Hillary think, and I'm expecting a sizable number of them to stay home if it's Obama vs McCain.

although to be honest, i would bet you'd see a loooott more people doing this in the obama camp if he loses than in the hillary camp. young voters are the absolute worst voting bloc to try and build a campaign on.
and also the most annoying.

On the plus side, the fact Ferraro is a goddam moron and has decide to shoot her mouth of now not only gives Obama a boost (he sacked his top foreign policy aid for speaking out of turn and immediately apologizing, Clinton plans to do these things and her people truly stand by them) it gives the Obama campaign a chance to openly address this now.
Either make your case that she's an idiot nicely and try and turn the people that feel that way, or let the media tear her apart and hope to shame some people into dropping their idiotic ideas in this specific case and accept anyone that won't wasn't coming to you anyway.

People always say "if my candidate doesn't get the nomination, I'll vote for the other party," but as far as I can tell, nobody ever does. They will either:
1) Vocally plan on voting for the other party, get into the voting booth, and realize "hey shit the other party kind of sucks" and vote for their party's candidate
2) not vote
I like how she prefaced her little response with "I fought segregation for a long time...". Doesn't mean what you said wasn't racist, you bitch. I guess it is one step above "I have tons of black friends."

i would personally vote for obama over hillary, but good Lord the hate and vitriol that you guys (and other young obama supporters) spew in her direction is hilarious and retarded all at once. some of it is deserved, but come on, obama's a politician too. i know you guys are in fantasy obama la la land right now, so this'll probably fall on deaf ears, but if he ends up being president the chances of him living up to the hype you've built around him is about zero percent.
he's a politician, he'll act like one. seesh.
and hillary, for all her faults, isn't the antichrist. a hillary led America probably wouldn't be all that much worse or better than an obama led America.

In my own case, I am looking for a few specific things that Obama has said he would do with the office, that Clinton will not. These things are very very important to me. More important than healthcare reform at this point in time.
It is crucial to my own interests that Obama get the office, not because of his personality cult or rhetoric, but his policy. I cannot vote for Clinton for those very reasons.

Ever since I reached voting age, I've had no choice but to vote for the lesser of a range of evils. An Obama/Clinton ticket would be that, but it's a much lesser evil than I'm accustomed to.
