I thought it was kind of lame that the concerts were broadcasted on ventrillo last year. Any chance they could be done over shoutcast instead?

    Um... whats wrong with ventrillo?

Flagship industries has been a longtime sponsor of PAX, the main dude for ventrilo (brian..something..) comes there himself and sets up all the vent servers. So since hes there in BYOC gaming with everyone else we get a concert feed ran to his seat so he can hook it up to his servers to pipe it through a vent channel.

Really, what is wrong with Ventrillo? I thought that was an awesome setup. We need to thank Brian Something for setting that up!

The projectors were great too. A little late, but great none the less.

I've been very happy with our Ventrilo implimentation. The only real drawback is a lag between the video (which is instant), and the audio (which needs to be encoded and broadcast over the network which takes a certain amount of time).

That problem wouldn't be solved no matter what we used to pipe audio through the network, though, it turns out that it's easier to delay video to sync up with the delayed audio.

Well, there may be another solution...stay tuned.

The delay is less than a second for the audio. Just enough to throw it off of a video sync but when I had it piped into my chair I didnt notice much of a delay when I was actually listening to that and the real concerts from the next room at the same time.

the OP should come back and say what his beef with ventrilo is...

When I said it was a little late I meant that it did not get set up until Sunday... That was the case right? Or am my memory fuzzied?

Technically, we had it for about half of Saturday and lost it again sometime on Sunday so we couldn't watch the Omegathon.

Could listen to it, but couldn't hear it.

I cried a little inside. Actually I cried a lot inside. We're going to keep trying, though!
