Kings of Power 4 Billion% - New Paul Robertson Animation
Hopefully you guys remember Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006, if not you should really check it out, it is a badass animation by the highly talented Paul Robertson, it's an homage to 'old skool' scrolling beat 'em ups.
Anyway, he has just released a new video, titled 'Kings of Power 4 Billion%' I don't know anything else about it. It's downloading atm, and I will post more details after having watched it.
I don't understand it. Its tres fucking weird as hell.
I'm with this guy. It looks cool and is really over the top which is in it's own right is awesome but... "What the hell." was my expression throughout the video.
I'm not as fond of this as I was of Pirate Baby's etc. PB was over the top, but it had a clear progression. This one just jumps all over the place, and I'm not sure I get was the over-arching plot was. A whole bunch of stuff happens, but nothing really gets done, if you catch my drift.

Clearly its an adaptation of the book of Revelation.
Suddenly a spaceship arrives. It dumps a whole shitload of morphing Japanese school boys across the world. The heroes take notice, and start to fight them. Simultaneously a giant naked lady sends forth hundreds of baby versions of her towards earth. The school boys are defeated only to spawn forth the Violence Kings, which kick the shit out of our heroes. One of the baby naked girls survives entry through the atmosphere and revives our heroes to fight again, only to have the Violence Kings fuse to become The Violence King. Six remaining Japanese school boys summon forth a giant cross and gather all the awesome people of the world and history include our heroes to form together into a giant combo attack called The New Ultimate Jesus, which proceeds to destroy The Violence King. The Violence King, obviously some form of spectral/non coproreal entity that could take physical form, is forced from the fused bodies of the last two Japanese school boys, who return to their normal forms after having the influence of The Violence King expunged from their bodies. With the immediate threat to Earth over, the heroes get inexplicably sucked into a dimensional vortex formed from within the severed head of a giant Japanese School Boy. On the other side lies their true enemy, the same girl who revived them to fight The Violence King, whom we learn is the King of Gods. He takes the form of a small Asian girl and attacks by maiming herself with various wounds, all of which are almost impossible to survive if he was a normal Asian girl but apparently the King of Gods is immortal. The King proceeds to kick the shit out of our heroes, who die. Their souls are then trapped inside the dream of the King of Gods forever, which I'm assuming is the world in which they travel to, to fight him.

I liked it as much as PCB, and I can't understand why someone hasn't given Mr. Robertson bags full of gold nuggets and asked him to make some actual games. I know I would, if I could.

The End.
See? :P
The ending was a little depressing. I hope a sequel is made where they all come back and escape from that dimension.
Still, the video was pretty awesome. But yeah, it's a 12 minute "wtf?" moment.

That is the most sickeningly Anime Fag thing I have ever seen.
I'm conflicted. If it is satire, it is brilliant; quite possibly the best thing on the Internet. If not, I despair; quite possibly the worst thing on the Internet.
His last video was met with nothing but praise, has the general populace of G+T changed that much or is it a lot different? Can't possibly be more over-the-top than his last.

It is way more over the top then the last. It's like the difference between sneezing and having your skull shoot out of your nostrils, ricochet off a wall and cave in your sternum and then explode.
I just...uh...wow. Not one second of that was entertaining.
That was completely pointless. It was Metal Slug replaced with schoolgirls, shown in .4 second jumps that make absolutely no sense. And the music was freaking obnoxious.
While I can recognize and appreciate the skill it must have taken to create such a thing, I don't think I enjoyed the content at all.
I don't think I can share the fascination with torrents of blood fountaining from every possible orifice at once...

I loved it. The guy has serious talent, and it's probably the most creative sprite art out there. Yeah, it's fast and erratic, but that's half the point of the thing, as it parodies animé and videogame cliches. The whole thing is basically a loveletter to all the crazy shit the Japanese put into their creative works. With Metal Slug-esque graphics.
It's definitely meant to be satirical, but it's also a visual showcase. Fair enough if you don't find it entertaining, but it should still be visually impressive if you have any love for sprite art. It is very well-crafted if nothing else.

...this is like DAICON IV for sprite-based games.

The End.
That's pretty much what I got from it, hi5.

(edit) I feel like a richer person for having watched that.

And definitely not safe for work.

It's clearly not for me.

also can't believe this and Dead Fantasy II both came out at the same time.

Cabana is better but this is still good
Baby Whatchamacallit was good, though.
at the most basic level
a bunch of "boys" come to earth and start a ruckus
some of the boys transform and there are 6 DIFFERENT scenarios where fighters of earth battle the boys in said various forms
all of the earth's fighters from those 6 scenarios come together to battle 2 super boys -who kill them all
a "girl" who comes to earth resurrects them, and they come back and destroy the super boys
then some all powerful being kills them all and everything in the end
I understood all of that, but it still doesn't make any sense.
I didn't say you didn't understand it, I said "you guys" (that don't).
Um, it was entertaining.

My big problem with kings of power is that I felt like I needed to freeze frame half the film to see everything that was happening.
