We're so excited to announce the Gold Master status of On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One that we wanted to celebrate! First, we thought we'd have a party with cake and ice cream, but we couldn't figure out how to keep the ice cream frozen, and then we got into an argument between double chocolate and carrot cake. So in the end, we thought a scavenger hunt would be better! Craftily hidden around the Rain-Slick, Hothead Games and Greenhouse sites are ten golden characters that are *ahem* fond of fruit. The first to find them all and submit their locations will win our contest prize. Please drop by the Greenhouse forum to read the contest rules and submit your entry. Happy Hunting!

Can games that are only digitally distributed technically go gold?
Terminology used when software is burned onto a "gold" cd that will be sent to the CD manufacturers to be reproduced. So named because of the CDR burnable CDs are gold backed normally. See Going Glass.

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.

That is a very good question. We have final software--a final image--that we COULD send to be stamped/printed. Typically, these sorts of announcements go out when the final code is sent to the manufacturing plant. We are just going to leave that last bit out entirely and then send it directly to you. One day, we hope we can deliver it straight into your brain but our process for that thus far has had a few glitches . . . .
I'm just wondering why you guys don't want my money? I mean, it's right here.
Seriously, is there administrative stuff you have to get out of the way first?
Since this wasn't answered, I know on top of anything else, there is an approval process for Microsoft and then they schedule a release on Arcade. I'm assuming they will want to coordinate with the launch of Greenhouse, which also has to be ready.
Do me a favor and release it after the 30th of May. I probably won't have enough money this upcoming paycheck and I get paid every two weeks. I don't want to be sitting here while it is released and not be playing it.
Come on . . . Joel! Vlad! I've quoted you before in this forum. I asked a question and you answered! We're buddies. Do me this one favor! Thanks.

You did not just seriously ask them to release it after a specific date.
Yes, buying through Greenhouse means we do not have to share as much with others but I would prefer if people focused on what is going to give them the best experience. For myself, I have my computer hooked up to a large TV in my living room with wireless keyboard and mouse--that is my preference for most games although sometimes, I prefer the controller layout for a particular game (and then I will buy the console version instead).

I'll try out the demos for both, as long as there's no glaring issues (for me) with the PC version, I'll pick it up from Greenhouse. Thanks.

I'll be getting mine on the 360, as I don't use this PC for gaming (only for internet), and my windows PC is too old to play current games, although it miraculously plays Civ IV. Plus I enjoy the feeling of a controller in my hands, unless I'm playing an FPS game
360 it is for me as well. I could easily get this game on the PC and might actually prefer the PC controls, but I reformat every couple months and think of all that reinstalling.
EDIT: +Achievements! The most delightfully pointless incentive I've ever known.
Vlad: Can you confirm whether or not there will be a demo for the game available on Xbox Live? Kotaku's latest hands-on is one of many articles that have indicated there will not be a demo, which would make me sad.

Oh wells...
I got up to like 7
If not, I'd be prepared to spend 1/4 of my week's dole on it!

It's done and you are not releasing it yet?

Guys it's downloaded into my brain. I'm playing it RIGHT NOW!
But I can no-longer please my girlfriend.
I consider this a fair trade and encourage you to join me.
You won I take it?
Yep
I have changed my PA title/avatar to the same one.
It's not a huge deal, but I was bored and now I have internets pride.
Yeah... When can I send you money in exchange for rain-slicked adventuring?
I've got money, and the will to spend it.
EDIT: And mine comes in many different colours.
The money that I possess is also quite colorful. Don't forget that we are now coloring our bills in the U.S.
I have two yellow ones right here, with some change. I don't think Hothead understands the willingness I have to exchange it for their product!
wait what
Yellow money?
I'll stick with orange, off-green, red and purple, thanks.

Correct. We have announced our release date for the release date . . . .
Khoo already dropped that in a thread here a few days ago...

Come to think of it, I've got a backlog of games to play. June would be good for me.
i.e. which version should I buy, if I have access to multiple systems, to ensure that I get further episodes?
This is all depending on whether I enjoy the demo or not.

I bet there are some pretty damn hilarious achievements, too. I'll be snatching this up on the 360.
