Jack doesn't repel people because it has "mature" content. It repels people because it has fucking horrible writing that reads like some livejournal addict's poetry and art that looks like it was scribbled on a napkin with permanent marker.
Every furry webcomic I've seen has absolutely horrid writing. That being said, if you're going to associate yourself with one it could at least be one that has good art.
Also that example you linked is fucking terrible art. The artist has no grasp on proportion or perspective and what the fuck is with the retarded anime eyes.
The guy behind that is pretty heavy with anime-inspired art, which a lot of folks can't stand, but the quality is leagues better than any color webcomic I've seen.
man, shiny shit has nothing to do with good art. good art has artistic direction and emotion in it. minus is good color art. gunnerkrigg is good color art. hell, even kc green's color stuff is fantastic art. Not because it's 'omg look how i can color this with all these photoshop effects', but because it perfectly communicates the emotion and atmosphere of what's going on.

WHAT
You know what has higher-quality art? Every comic in the first post of this thread. Even Dinosaur Comics.
I really like Dresden Codak's art even if the writing isn't that good.
some of is really cool (I admit to liking his sketchblog) but so much of it is stupid anime "OH MY GOD LOOK THIS CHARACTER HAS BREASTS" style pandering

okay, that's pretty extreme
Maybe DC doesn't have the absolute best art, but it's detailed and very consistent.

It's the same set of pictures over and over again.

My mind is fucking blown
I am completely serious.
Go look through the archives, my friend.
It may have eluded you at first, but now you should be able to see for yourself!

I'm not very keen on Snafu's style, but his attention to detail in a lot of pages is relatively crazy.
Some of the comics in the thread's OP have a much nicer artstyle that's more pleasant to look at, but the quality itself is brought down because most cartoonists have too many updates on their schedule to put that level of level of detail into single pages.
Snafu basically updates his comics sporatically, but each page has loads of effort put into it. Tracy has a similar schedule with Lackadaisy; Her pages are spaced out by months, but the level of detail is disgustingly awesome. It also helps that her comics are actually worth reading.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree.
If you look at comic #34 you'll see that some pixels in the second panel are darker than in comic #97.
Good as in "made me laugh", it is a comedy after all. There's not much of an overarching plot, more a series of short skits strung together. Also some nice call-outs to the original series.
I was a fan of the series waaay back when I was 7 or 8. Nick at Nite was my window into television's past, and it gave me something to do for a couple hours since I could never get to sleep when I was supposed to.
Some of my fondest memories of childhood are my dad home after several months at Sea, him snoozing on the couch while watching Get Smart and Faulty Towers.

It's the shit the artist pulled out of his ass and smeared over a piece of paper, calling it a webcomic.

xkcd does not belong in any art categories except perhaps 'lazy' and 'shit'

Soon. But in a shocking twist, she enjoys it, thus leaving Rapequist feeling uneasy.
