Sounds like all there's left to enjoy is a single player campaign that's really just a tutorial for mech building and combat online. I enjoy Mech building quite a bit (certainly something that was missed with the MechAssault series) so I'll keep that in mind if I find it in some random bargain bin. Thanks for the info!

Maybe someday, they'll see a hero's just a man. Who knows he's free.

If you see it in the bargain bin pick it up, the solo is ok but soloing in the war is quite fun when you're starting, you get to buy parts and experiment with mech builds, they've also improved the AI and once in a while you get surprises of super though battles.
I think I'm still technically a member of the Bacon Robots, too.
Man, I spent hours making this precisely-calibrated overlay to slap onto my screen, so I could precision-mortar people from a distance. I don't think it ever helped me win any matches, but I remember one awesome game that made the overlay worth it:
I think it was a 3v3 game, and the other team was kinda hanging back and waiting for us. One of the scouts found which base was theirs, and I got way back out at maximum range and started dropping shells right on their base from halfway across the map. I felt on top of the world -- until they rushed us (the only obvious step they could take) and destroyed us all. I don't know how much damage I ended up doing to their base, but we lost. Oh well. It was still awesome. :-)

I'd be up for it later but I probably need to play single player again and relearn how to MAEK STOMPY.

Maybe it's just me but I feel this game is barely worth spending money on unless you can get other people to play with. The single player campaign (as much of it as I played) was pretty bad. I'm not sure who thought it would be fun to have to carefully pick off infantry and small personnel vehicles with a 300 foot tall robot and clunky precision aiming.

I wanted to love that game so bad, though.
