Robot Roll Call

Cambot, gypsy, tom servo, and croooooooooooooooooow

In the not-too-distant future --
Next Sunday, A.D. --
There was a guy named Joel,
Not too different than you or me.
He worked in a satellite loading bay,
Just polishing switches to pay his way;
He did his job well with a cheerful face,
But his bosses didn't like him
So they shot him into space.

We'll send him cheesy movies,
The worst ever made.
Joel says when you got lemons,
You make lemonade.
Now keep in mind he can't control
When the movies begin or end,
Because he used the extra parts
To make his robot friends.

Robot roll-call:
Cambot
Servo
Gypsy
Crow!

If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
And other science facts,
Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show,
I should really just relax
For Mystery Science Theater 3000."

Mystery science theatre is awesome. I remember watching this shit when I was like five, and I've enjoyed it on and off forever. Who else thinks MST3k is the bestest

The best way to find it is through Google Video, actually
I watched ten or so episodes that way
The first one I watched was Manos.
The second one had a title that I still cannot get past: Santa (as in Claus) vs (implying a fight) Satan (the devil)
    Santa vs Satan
It was so bad that fifteen minutes in I felt like I had been watching for an hour

Mike Nelson put this together after his riff of the Sixth Sense.

I'm looking at either Matrix, Bourne Identity, or Halloween
    Give me your pick

I love love this show. Back in the days I owned 3 episodes and the movie on VHS and watched it on TV whenever I could (ie. whenever I visited my Grandma I would look for it because she had the Sci-Fi channel). I've probably seen the movie 20-30 times and at one point could recite pretty much every funny line in it, which just so happened to be the whole thing.

People always mention the Manos The Hands of Fate episode but it really isn't their best one. Definitely overrated. Still good, but undeserving of the title "best episode."

Guys the Rifftrax player is the shit
It eliminates the need to sync up the riff and the movie by doing it automatically

oh god the movie has some of my favorites

    normal view is awesome

I also like the part where they're walking around in the mansion and this extra walks right through the middle of the scene, staring hatefully at one of the actors, and Tom or Mike goes Vroooooooomm as the guy is walking through

As far as MST3K ripoffs goes, Austin has Master Pancake Theater which does live riffs on really bad movies. I'm a fan. I'm sure other cities have troops that do this stuff too.
