More in-game speech -- a solution

So I've been playin this game for a while now and it is damn awesome. I love Lovecraft and you tied in gaming humor and an actually fun game--and I ended up having fun. That's a good combination. Anyway, I've always been a huge fan of voice acting in games (of course only in games where the voice acting wasn't ass-bag terrible). And to me, and I hope others, this game just screams voice acting. Or at least I'd really love to hear some since the dialogue is so awesome. Now, unfortunately that costs money and all that crap. So I thought of an idea and then decided to have it: "I'll lay this stuff down for free."

OK, I know what you're thinking--community voice overs almost always blow smelly goat balls--and not even the good kind.. Well, that's true. However, here is my proposition: Tycho and Gabe: Send me some text you'd like a voice-over for and some ideas of what you'd like to hear--you know just so I can lay down some examples of different accents, personalities and whatnot. I'll lay it down and send it back. Think of it as an audition.

Reasons why you should give me a shot when you're pretty sure I'm just another crazy dude on the forums with a crackpot idea who has something for goat balls:

A) You've got nothing to lose: I send you the voiceovers and if you don't like them you can just go: Well, these suck. Don't bring this up again.
B) I encode commercials for Comcast and do the occasional local spot voice over, so I know what's necessary for the pacing, intonation and cadence of vocal lines.
C) I speak fluent Spanish (Lived in Bolivia for 6 years), so accents come pretty easy to me. I'd also be willing to do Spanish voice work if you are doing a Spanish release at some point.
D) I've got Pro-Tools, Soundforge, a decent condenser mic and plenty of hard drive space. I majored in music in college, am in a band and have put in many years of audio recording as a result.
E) Did I mention I'd do this for free?

Give 'er a shot, eh? You either get some sweet, free voice-overs, or if I turn out to be one of those American Idol first weekers who is just confoundingly terrible and just doesn't get it, post the voiceovers I send ya and all can have a great laugh.

As always, I'd love feedback from anyone who stumbles across this and has feedback.

i totally agree give him a shot, why the hell not? i mean his forum post / resume sounds legit, he sounds like he knows what he's talking about, I admit, i had to google alot of it to find out for sure, his humor in his post is kind of along the lines of yours. of course what do i know i've had one beer and wouldn't drive and i dont' wanna say how many times i've had to press the delete key, plus my grammer sucks, plus i'm not funny. but enough about my shortcomings, my vote, give him a try, who knows you might find some value in his work, and he said he'd do it for free, maybe throw a fiver his way so he will say "i love goat balls" in the game somewhere, maybe the credits!

Gabe and Tycho don't read the forums. Your best bet if you want to contact them is email.
