Transformers: Hearts of Steel

Man, I am so anticipating this one here. Transformers comics are taking a turn into the days of steam powered machinery and whatnot.

We have Megatron as a Giant Cannon

Starscream as a plane of sorts

and the amazing Shockwave.

Others include Insecticons, Astro Train, and Bumblebee appearing as a locomotive, which pretty much will say a lot about his existence there.

Goddamn that looks awesome. Though I have to admit, the bright colors on Starscream and Shockwave seem like they might detract from that dusty steampunk feel. I think something with some more sepia tones and stuff would look better.

Still, those are some sexy sketches, and I'm not even a huge Transformers geek or anything.

This is only on the second issue right? I hate picking up series when they're on issue 537 or something. Then I'm just lost.

So how is this? THe concept designs are freaking awesome.

I want some diecast figures of those guys, especially Shockwave, like Hasbro put out for War Within.

They were cool but they didn't seem as functional as the designs for Hearts of Steel.

    Yes. Yes it was.

I know a guy that worked at Dreamwave. He got me the whole run + every #1 variant cover for $15.

    So awesome.

    If by genocide you mean:

[spoiler:37158c914f]Has Snake Eyes shatter the Matrix of Leadership[/spoiler:37158c914f]

    than yes.

Picked up GI Joe/Transformers 3: The Art of War yesterday. I thought how they brought Serpentor into the mix was pretty neat, along with the entire Matrix angle.
