Halo3's "believe"... as enacted by Viva Pinata (now they've done the museum ad)
Posts
Gametrailers say yes, it's official.
Also remember the ad it's cribbing from looked like a fan-made kinda thing.
Pharezon linked me to this not long ago, and it is utterly awesome. Also looks far too professional to just be a fan-made thing.
That was easily the best thing I've watched all week. The absurd melodrama of the original could only be topped ... by adding piñatas. Hilarious, A+++ would buy again.
I think the ridiculous price MS paid for them put additional expectations on them.
Their last few games have been great.
they put out some real horrible shitfests before that
i'm looking at you, star fox adventures
I liked that game. Far more than Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Heck, Kameo and Perfect Dark 0, two launch games and both were definitely decent. The new Banjo looks grea,t plus they're doing the new Avatars.
They weren't necessarily bad, but their output from the Cube-Xbox years to Viva Pinata wasn't exactly up to the sheer awesomeness of the SNES-N64 days.
So there's reason for the griping. Looks like they've finally got their act together, though.
so wait, there is a fucked up mating mode? I don't know if I'm intrigued or horrified.
They're hilarious, I love getting them.
There's RARE hate?
I think a certain level of it yeah.
At least Rare Apathy.
Like, as though they haven't made a decent game since Goldeneye, despite Perfect Dark being superior in every single regard.
As though the new Banjo is doomed to mediocrity. Or the slow but high sales of Viva Pinata were unwarranted.
Disgusts me sometimes.
Kameo was okay, Viva Pinata was okay (played the demo and liked it for a couple of hours but got bored), and Star Fox Adventures was pretty terrible.
I have no particular dislike for Rare, but they haven't put out anything I would buy in a long time, so any Rare project is met by me with a shrug.
Goldeneye fucking sucked.
Except the regard of it pushing the 64 to the point that it is nigh-unplayable in parts.
Or that the story is complete and utter balls.
Really, the Rare hate is more of the "How the mighty have fallen" than the "LOL Phoenix Games" variety. To me, they really haven't made much worth looking at since their N64 stuff (and even that stuff could be a bit hit-or-miss).
Starfox adventures is easily the worset game I have ever played, however.
Video is quality, Rare are awesome.
I wonder if / when we'll get another Live Arcade title from them, excluding the '64 Banjo port, of course. I think that is being handled by another team anyway.
Hey-o!
Huh, apparently opinions can be wrong.
I'M A TWITTER SHITTER
Who knew?
Also I second the nomination for Best Thing Ever.
Viva Piñata is easily the best thing Rare has worked on since their heyday.

I mean, it wasn't very good, but fan-made? I'd like to meet the fan with enough cash to make all that by hand and film it.
EDIT: Btw, I loved the video.
Yeah, and that pissed me off more than a little, but you have to admit that the sheer scale of the diorama doesn't lend very well to being fan-made.
It's very professionally done. And gorgeous to boot.
HEY!
No, it didn't look the slightest bit fan made...
It did annoy me though, because I can't even think of a battle of that scale, so it's a juge cocktease.
...Which marine is that??
