Posts
We're supposed to miss most of the brunt, but the projected path still puts the eye, like, right over us. Hopefully things don't get too bad.
Good Luck, please don't drown.
EDIT: looks like the consensus is it will hit me 7-8pm tomorrow my time, so now I've no excuses! bedtime!

So why aren't you here?

Lobsang gets +40 XP for improvising food
Lobsang gets +40 XP for Silently waving hello in the middle of the room.
Everyone that didn't make it advances to the next level for not drowning.
Great session guys.
Sheet is updated.

Thinking Color Spray, a v. Will attack will be the cat's pajamas.
EDIT: Yeah, I'm at 2606, just over 1000 to level 4. So probably two sessions, maybe three if there's not much combat next session.
EDIT the 2nd: I might swap Ray of Frost for Thunderwave, since I'm missing push effects. Of course, if I got it now I'd be pushing 0...
Nah, you will want to have a single target attack that is not AoE at some point.
You have a warlord however, so you might end up wanting to swap it out for magic missile, since MM is a ranged basic attack. Consider that if you plan on doing a lot of swapping.
Anyway, hold off on any swapping until later in the week. Adventurers vault comes out, so there might be new material that changes your power choices.
Did you notice how we're tied for AC now that I got that armor? I should not be tied with best AC when Im a rogue. Stupid fighter.

Of course, if Adventurer's Vault turns out to be Brokesauce City, we might not need to worry, eh? I'm hopeful, though.
Consider a human at +4, a full 3-4 behind you. Or an elf or dwarf at 16, a full 4 or 5.
Re: Adventurers Vault. Anything in it that you want to make or buy, i get to veto. If i give it to you, its fair game.

ALSO: Just curious, but how much did you pull your punches in today's game? I know those needlefang's probly would have eaten us that first time.

Nothing else
Would anyone care to disagree?

That's a no on ability score retrain, yes?
So a 2[W] power is 2d10+4
Hoping for some cool wands from the AV, that'll help guide where I stick 4th level's other attribute point. Of course, orbs might end up way cooler again.
You stats are so low that you could really pick anyone and not drop a wink. But wisdom doesn't boost any prime attributes until epic levels. So go with dex for the most part. A second implement for orb isn't going to be that great for you by the time you get it.
Likely masters wands:
Notes in bold:
And yeah, I don't use Wis much now, but it'll help for Epic, and the orbs are just so much better than the wands in the PHB. But like I said, I'll have to see what the AV has. That SB wand isn't too bad, and that MM one is pretty nice for some versatility.
So if you're an elf wizard and take CoD with 16 int, and 18 wisdom you do 1d6+int +2xwisdom or 1d6+3+8 damage for your at will. That is striker level and the 8 from wisdom always lands and can be manipulated to do even more damage[thunder waving enemies into it for instance]
How about this, i will add the equivalent DPR to the magic missile wand and see how "reasonable" it sounds.
"When you hit with magic missile double your intelligence modifier and add that as an untyped bonus to damage"
Its 3-4 DPR in the heroic tier and 6-8 as you advance.
To compare, sneak attack is +1.75-2 DPR in the heroic tier.
CoD is already the highest DPR wizard at-will even if you give a wizard bracers of the perfect shot.[which is another reason the EB boost sucks, which is really sucky since EB is a pretty sucky power to start out with]
No, I guess you're right. Still, I think the fact that it's a wand balances it out. A high-wis wizard won't want to use CoD that much anyway, and definitely won't want to have to keep two implements up-to-snuff, since Orb stuff is way more synergistic.
At the most exploited, it's an extra 4-8 damage per round, and maybe a bit more if the whole party gets into it with the forced movement. Strikers get more damage dice on their powers, and faster. I don't think there's any toe-stepping going on here.
And Sneak Attack is 2d6, upgraded almost immediately to 2d8. That's 7-9 DPR, immediately; and goes up to 5d8 (22.5 DPR). Where do you get 1.75-2?
