Funny this gets mentioned. I just picked up 9 extra-thick tubes from work tonight. They mysteriously appeared in my waste basket before I got there. I am pretty sure these tubes used to hold banner paper for the large format printer.

I have an internet in my car, by which I mean a series of cardboard tubes. As I don't have a worthwhile and relevant costume, I'll probably present them to worthies at the dinner or the first day of PAX.

    Oh sure.

Big legal disclaimer for the dinner + Cardboard tubes distributed by event organizer = No worries

    Also, you got PM!

I'm thinking that next year I might dress like a pirate and then challenge all the CTS-s to duels. Granted, Samurai aren't ninja, but it's close enough. If I'm really dedicated I'll build some kind of sound system into the coat that will play the theme from The Seahawk on command.

Program it to play when it hears you shout "Engarde!"

Only some pansy French pirate would say that since it's more of a muskateer thing... an English or American pirate of the grand tradition would say something like "Have at you!"

Can I by chance borrow one of those? Because samurai cardboard tube fights sounds like my kind of thing.

Does a cardboard tube count as a carry on on a plane?
