I'm not sure how many folks here are devotees of the Ye Olde Adventuree game, but Sierra made some of the more iconic (if not some of the best) of the lot, and its hard to beat the Quest for Glory series for .... well, frustrating bugs, disjointed transitions between games, and a final installment that fell somewhere between "Suck" and "Really, Really Suck" on Occam's Line 'O Suck. Despite these facts, the series is a cherished part of my, and many people's, childhood gaming memories.
Tonight, at Sometime PST, the folks over at
AGD Interactive are releasing a VGA remake of the second game in the series, which up to this point, has been the only one in the series that only existed in the EGA/Text Parser format. This marks the culmination of eight years of work by these dedicated folks, and I just wanted to shout their Hosannas from the highest hill I could find, and that'd be right here.
This is special in another way, because they have the officially approval of the current owners of the Quest for Glory IP. Yes, an example of a corporation actually paying attention to a fanbase, and encouraging involvement. Shocking, I'm sure.
If you like adventure games, or RPG's, I can't reccomend the series enough. Buy, borrow or steal the first one, and have a character to bring forward into the sequel, or just go nuts and start ab initio in the second game.
