No, no, no. Games in which you use your hands are baby's toys (Wild Gunman)
When Marty tried to return the hoverboard to the little girl, she said "Keep it, I've got a Pit Bull now." Referring to the rocket-powered hoverboard that Griff used to cross the pond in front of the courthouse.

it's make like a tree and leave!
you sound like a damned fool when you say it wrong
As my own personal celebration for booking vacation time at work for PAX09 today, I'll take this time to announce that I'll be returning to organize the Second Annual PAX FTW (For The Wings) Night at Wings on Granville, on Wednesday September 2nd 2009 8:00pm (Official Thread will be posted in due time).
However as awesome as that Pre-PAX event will be, I imagine some of us will still want to get together SOMETIME before then. :P
So does anyone have any preferences for an event: Jims Gaming Lounge, Movies, Food Related Gatherings, Laser Tag, Concerts, Trip to Vegas, Back to the Future Marathons (Delph apparently needs to review those films).
I hear we can also get seats on the home bench at GM Place for hockey since the Canucks aren't showing up for their own home games these days. o_O
The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets at the Bourbon - Saturday Feb 7th
With Bloodhag and the Boss Monsters
Doors at 8pm. $10 cover.
50 W. Cordova, Vancouver, BC V6B 1C9
604-684-4214 for more info.
I'm there.... hope to see some fellow PAXers. Absinthe, I'm sure you'd be interested. Perhaps we can even drag Trotsky out for some fun.
^.^

I'm not sure if I like where this is going.
Hell, who am I kidding, you know *just* what to say :winky: I'll probably come out, be good to see you guys and get out of the house. Have to keep it relatively tame though, as I'm doing paintball on Sunday and want to be able to shower my friend with many plastic pain-filled shots on his birthday.
Crap... I forgot one of my friends is moving today.
I may not be able to make it to the concert tonight, at least not before the doors open.
Either way I'm thinking a couple of us could use the CST Greyhound trip as an excuse to get togther and do some 'planning'. In other words meet for 5 mins to decide which bus we want to make the official one so we can get b0wser that info for the thread/site.... then do something else. We could also possibly look into some alternatives for chartering, though I'm doubting we'll have a large enough confirmed group to make that happen.
Are you bus folks (trotsky, access, parabola) up for hanging out next weekend? We can meet up at any of our fine local pubs or restaurants.... or we can do a gaming night. I'll offer to host if need be, or one of you can volunteer to host if you're too lazy to travel. :P
The Thickets were awesomesauce.
I also loved Bloodhag. They're essentially a screamo metal band that sings songs about authors and preaches reading. They threw books at the crowd while shouting "REEEEEAAADDD". Needless to say, I HAD to buy their CD.
^.^
I might be up for next weekend. I'm seeing Five Alarm Funk... either Friday or Saturday. I got to check my tickets... Just getting pulled around by friends. I'm sure I can find time though. Any ideas?

Holy fuck.
I hope they were softcover books.
I don't envy the person who go got hit by the corners

Any word yet on if Saturday night is good for you ACC3SS?
Since it won't be a really big group we can certainly just do a game night at my place, I have the Wii and 360.... which are the only consoles that matter. 8-)
Just bring your controllers and any games you want to play.... that I might not have.
Either that or we can head out to a pub and be social.... that doesn't sound very geeky though.
If Saturday evening is no good I'm open all day Sunday.
Strangely none of you mentioned your availability on Sunday. lol.
My bad, Absinthe, I didn't notice that was a possibility. I do everything so half-assed... ^.^
Since it's already Sunday, I'm assuming we're not doing it.
NEXT WEEKEND
Saturday is best for me, just not too early... I may be able to put some time aside on Sunday.
I'm working until 4pm next saturday... so taking commuting and such into consideration, anytime after 6pm is good for me. At the moment Sunday looks somewhat open as well.
Okay... the whole getting together thing this time of year seems to be going nowhere. lol.
As far as getting together as a group over the next couple of months, if anyone has any ideas go ahead and post them.... and if anyone wants to just hang out and play a few video games feel free to send me a text message.
Anyway, as far as big events go, we should start considering our pre-PAX festivites for '09.
Pretty much the Second Annual PAX FTW (For The Wings) Night at Wings on Granville, on Wednesday September 2nd 2009 8:00pm is a given. As is doing a group dinner earlier in the same evening. Any other thoughts on Pre-PAX festivites?
A gaming night at Jims the weekend before PAX?
Renew our rivalries by getting in some laser tag?
Heading out for a Rock Band night at one of the downtown pubs?
Doing touristy stuff like a Granville Island Brewery Tour?
You know you guys can always come down to my place here as long as you don't mind going to a group home for disabled people... Not that you'd really interact with anyone other than me.
Upstairs theres a pretty big lounge with a 55" HDTV and I have a Wii + X360. Theres also a pool table and an air hockey table.
Also theres a kitchen so snacks and stuff are easy to make.
I live about 10 minutes walking from the Granville Island Brewery so we could take the tour there then come back to my place for games.
So I've been hitting up a few of the midnight movie double features at the Rio Theatre lately. It's a pretty good deal for $10.
This Saturday (28th) is the Clerks double feature. Being Kevin Smith films and all it is a somewhat geeky outing, so I figured some of you might be interested. If anyone is up for seeing Cerks and Clerks II on the semi-big screen let me know.

You damn fool...
I'm interested in some sort of event, depending on what, when, and where it'll be!
The thread will be up soon.

Seriously though I'm up for pretty much anything. Laser Tag would suck though.
Jims Gaming Lounge was fun last time. It'll be fun again. That's my vote. But if we want to do something new thats fine.

It's always fun to venture into the seediest part of the city. o_O
Shall we meet up somewhere before hand or just try to find each other the crowd when we get there?

Saturday is Valentine's Day...so...yah, I'm out :P
Sorry, lots of single girls out clubbing on Valentine's day. Duty calls.
Lol forgot it was Valentine's day.
Yay for being single.
The front door isn't but you can get in back by the parkade.
Anyway I figured Saturday might be a bust considering Valentine's and all, which is why I also mentioned Sunday.
Strangely none of you mentioned your availability on Sunday. lol.
I actually have plans earlier on Saturday afternoon, so Sunday was actually my preference.
