The trailers are kinda funny, but I really want to know what the gameplay is like.
Also, let's put those trailers here so people don't have to click links:

Coming from the Monkey Island guy, the trailers could be a lot funnier...

But if it gets a native OS X release like the Penny Arcade game, I'll buy it.

I tried following up on this game at the Hothead booth but they didn't have or know anything about it past the trailer and the t-shirts they were selling/giving away.

Given that many mac's are running c2d's now- They might as well just get a copy of XP or windows 7 and dual boot.

I saw a guy running an Imac as his gaming machine and it was large and awesome.

Sorry. Works for me in Chrome. You could try going to http://pax.gamespot.com/ and finding it from there, to see if that'd make a difference (if it's the whole page not loading). If it's just the video player, try downloading?

I like the way the horizon rolls up. The 2d art is great, but it doesn't mesh well in style with the 3d world it's sorta just plunked on, kinda jarring to the eye.

You can kill skeletons and break barrels, though.

    Yup you're right. I got confused ...

Deathspank looks pretty cool. I know there is local multiplayer, have they said anything about online co-op over Live?

Deathspank has only local "girlfriend" co-op, in the spirit of Super Mario Galaxy.

The second player's role is that of Sparkles the Wizard, a pink-gowned spellcaster that helps Deathspank collect loot and can cast spells from a distance. Sparkles shares hitpoints with Deathspank and has a variety of magic, including flamethrower powers and the ability to make an exploding decoy of himself.

Deathspank launches today on PSN and tomorrow on XBLA. You may start getting excited now.

So Sparkles doesn't get any of the loot himself? My wife wouldn't like that at all. She would make ME be Sparkles =(

man what, have you even looked at this game? its a hack n slash game like diablo or sacred 2 or whatever. ron gilbert wrote funny item descriptions and dialog for it, looks like. if it was a new adventure game from ron gilbert i would pick it up no matter what, i assure you. but i dont care for playing this kind of game without co-op personally.

Rumor has it the game contains Monkey Island-esque puzzles you have to solve in order to progress to different dungeons/areas. And the aforementioned dialogue.

We'll see just how much of the game plays like an adventure, and how much is Diablo combat when it comes out tomorrow.

Eurogamer wouldn't know a good game if it ripped their arm off and beat them to death with the wet end. Just look at their gushing Fable II review, where they give it a 10 out of 10. Did we play the same game? After the review Molyneux did give them a rewarding exclusive interview, where the Eurogamer narrator proceeds to fellate him.

Or how about their 360 review of Dragon Age: Origins, where they give it a 6/10? The port wasn't that bad, and a slightly crappier version of Dragon Age is worlds better than any Fable game.

    Deathspank IGN review: 8.5/10
    Deathspank OXM review: 85%

man youre gonna call out a review site for having bad reviews and then post an IGN review...

i have no opinion one way or the other on eurogamer or the quality of deathspank, not having played it yet, but that strikes me as pretty funny i dunno.

Yeah, I’m not going to get all angry at a so-so review for a game I haven’t played.

I haven’t played many games of this type, but I’m still intrigued. At the very least I’ll play the demo tonight.

There will be a demo for you to make your decision. You shouldn't really use reviews to judge a game. Which is kinda funny because that's what they are supposed to do, but I always have something in the back of my mind that says they are saying it because they "got a kickback" or "have friends with the company". I generally play the demo. If I like it I'll get it. If not I'll probably STILL get it, just hate it every time I play it.

Sometimes a demo isn't the best way to judge either. For instance, Brutal Legend.

For the record I loved Brutal Legend. But yeah I get your point.

This is why I have Gamefly. I put a bunch of games in my queue. They get to me. If I don't like them, I send it back. If I like them, I beat them, I send them back. If I love it I keep it. Really good way to keep games you really enjoy without wasting $60 on a new game that sucks.

From what I have seen, they are playing the "wait and see how well it sells on the consoles first" routine. It is really obnoxious.

I assume this is due to a greater risk of piracy.

I've only put in about an hour but I'm having a good time with this. The dialogue is definitely Tickesque and I really like the graphical style. It's nothing complex - a fairly basic hack and slash game with humorous dialogue and a pleasant style. Fairly mindless but for a downloadable title it's impressively well polished.

I'll play some more and drop some thoughts down here.
