Heroes on NBC

The new "hot" show Heroes premieres on NBC Monday at 9PM EST

the basic premise: real people getting superpowers. Examples: one girl is apparently invinicble, a guy can paint future events, one can fly, etc

it may or may not be typical television crap. I'll tune in to see if it's any good

(it looks better than Smallville)

Anything's better than Smallville. I really like the guy who plays the flying male nurse, so I'll tune in just to see him.

You can always just tune in and see for yourself right now. The first episode is available online, though the quality leaves something to be desired.

I may need to start flipping over to this after Prison Break. I always manage to forget about it though.

I really enjoyed it. It was more realistic super hero then I wear spandex style.

I thought it was pretty good.

And she's not really invincible, she's more like Wolverine - she gets hurt but she's got that "healing factor" going on.

I thought it was actually very good. To me it could be called Ubreakable: The Series. The Japanese guy is awesome, for him alone I am thinking of getting cable so I may watch this show. More likely I'll just wlak over to my neighbors on Monday night.

Really, though, I found it to be good. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the "secret government type guy who is following them all." I hate that kind of stuff.

I'm worried that it could end up becoming 'super-powered Lost'. Lost is a good show, but the mysteries are starting to irritate me, and I don't need another show like that.

A network channel comes up with a show I might actually be interested in and when do they air it?

    Monday fucking night.

    Fuck you NBC.

I'm definitely going to be watching the show, and contrary to my previous post, and kind of excited for it. I know it looks like 4400 redux, but I think it might be different, tonally. I also like Greg Grunberg, and have yet to dislike a show that he's been in (Felicity, Alias, two episodes of Lost).

It is but it barely comes in at my house. I guess I could get rabbit ears, or some such sillyness, but it'll still look like crap. Half the reason I dopped cable was because of how terrible it looks on my HDTV. I figure we barely watch enough cable to warrent the monthly fee and we sure as shit don't watch enough to pay the price for digital cable so I just axed the whole dang thing.

That was more for people like Jordyn, who either can't or won't be available when it airs and are still possibly interested.

As far as my impressions, it wasn't half bad. A bit rough, and I'm not sure I'm completely on board, but I'll give it a bit of time to breath and see if it finds its stride. Some of the more untraditional powers have the potential to be interesting. It leads into Studio 60, so it's not too big a stretch for me to catch it.

First- Yay Fram for cooking. I do a great majority of it in our house, and my girl loves me for it. You better keep that one.

B- As was said: Tivo or VCR? That way, you can catch it Tuesday at 6, before Sci-fi shows back to back Dead Like Me at 7 & 8 and then Eureka at 9. A full evening, methinks.

This is another oppurtunity for animation to be taken seriously by tv and the public, and instead it is live action. Dammit.

So, that was pretty good. The Japanese guy really stole the show as far as I'm concerned, and while the rest of it wasn't quite as fantastic as I had hoped, I still enjoyed myself and will continue to watch every week. Also, realizing that the art was done by Tim Sale was totally awesome.

While I'm of the opinion that animation is the only way to do comic book movies/shows, this show would only work as live action
