    There were worse things in that game though. Like the reporter, who started with a camera flash and a lucky penny. AND THAT'S IT.

    I never replay games, but I've replayed it twice so far.

    The combat system is a little clumsy, but I like the concept. The magic is really useful. And it's really creepy at the beginning, although it gets less so as you progress.

    Yeah, that's what I like about the Fatal Frame series, is pro, still haven't quite gotten the first one to work on my ps2's HDD, makes me sad :(

    Fuck, I'm glad I just borrowed that game from a friend. I played about 15 minutes of it before I got too freaked out to continue.

    I'm a pussy when it comes to horror games and movies. I'm not sure why I managed to get through ED, honestly, but I had one of my worst nightmares ever because of it. I wrote it out in [chat] once, I'll see if I can find it.

Xel'lotath disappeared, and there was a Trapper sitting on my desk. I froze instantly, and sat there in bed, staring at the Trapper, terrified out of my mind. Gradually, my mind cleared and I realized that there was at least a 50/50 chance that the "Trapper" was just a trick of the light. I risked a quick dash to the light switch and sure enough, nothing there. I looked at the clock; only 20 minutes had passed. I turned on all the lights in the apartment, made a post in [chat], and I haven't been to sleep since.

    You know what I've been doing for most of the 4 1/2 hours since I woke up? Playing Eternal Darkness. I just beat the game, so hopefully I'll be able to sleep. Problem is, I have to take the car for a checkup in 2 hours, so I might as well stay awake and take a nap later today.

    It was really bad, though. I was fucking terrified.
    I literally got like 4 hours of sleep over the next couple of days because every time I'd drift off, I'd get this really intense feeling that there was a creature from the game in the room with me, and I'd have to wake up to make sure I was alone. It was really bad.

    Yeah, I don't think I've ever played it all by myself, it's pretty jumpy at times, and in number 2 I think there's a recurring dude with freakishly long arms that really bothers me, but only after someone pointed out how creepy they were:x

    I'd agree with that.

    A friend of mine said he hardly used any of the spells, and it took him forever to finish the game. Spoilers about some of the spells used in the game below:
    Like, he never used the Pool or Magical Barrier spells at all, only used Dispel and Enchant Item when it was necessary to progress, very seldomly used the Shield spell. I was like, "shit dude, no wonder it took you forever." I pretty much breezed through the last part through judicious use of Mana Pool, Shield, and Enchant Item. Magical Barrier was helpful to give me time to cast high level spells I needed. It was especially sweet the second time around when I had the Mantorok rune, which makes everything so much easier.

    I really wish I'd played this game before participating in HB's Eternal Darkness phalla, because I would have enjoyed it a lot more, I think.
