Man, my GameStop doesn't open until noon (that's 4.5 hours from now). And they called me yesterday to confirm my pre-order - for the guitar only. Huh? You better have my game, GameStop.

heh yeah I'm sick as hell so I couldn't sleep. Playing hookey from church so I went out to gamestop and see they don't open til 11. I can confirm that they have a +20% trade in value towards RB2 poster up.
I turned in a few games and managed to grab CoD4 and RB2. But my fucking roommate is going to be watching football all day. of fucking course. Oh well. I HAVE IT.
Can anyone who has the game with the Rock Band 2 guitar confirm for me that the tilt sensor works better for activating overdrive?
I play left handed, and when playing that way with the Rock Band guitar I've never been able to use the tilt sensor to activate overdrive.
That's the deciding factor for me between buying the stand-alone game and buying the full package.

I don't think the RB2 guitar is sold in stores yet. I'm assuming its the same deal the drums went thru.
Drums "came out" on tuesday, but didn't really start showing up in stores until Saturday at the earliest.
The Guitar "came out" on Friday, so don't expect it showing up until around wednesday.
I hate all you people that got it from walmart at midnight. Drove to three different walmarts and none of the had it. I think it had to do with Hurricane Ike delaying the trucks a bit.
The cool thing is that while sitting at work, my gf texted me and told me that she got it for me already. Though I have a sneaking suspicion that's because she really wants to play it.
For once this Wal-Mart had a game the day it came out. I guess this sort of makes up for them doucheing me last year and not selling me a Rock Band bundle.

I had to go to Wal-mart anyway and, to be nice, it was a MADHOUSE. They didn't have RB2 on the racks and since there was only one person in electronics waiting on a line of five or six people, I got everything else I needed and left without having them check.
I just looked online at EB and Best Buy to see if stores nearby had it, but nothing is stocked . What's annoying is some towns further south (i.e., further into the hurricane zone) have it. Bah.
I ran through the easier songs so far (after trying the impossible challenge first for shits and giggles) and the game seems solid.
I will definitely enjoy doing those battle of the bands challenges.

I just ordered online at Best Buy for store pick up and it shows the drums as being available for pick up. My order went through, I'm still waiting for the confirmation email that says they're ready for pick up, but it looks like Chicago area Best Buys have the drums today.
EDIT: Just got the email saying the game and wireless drum set are ready for pick up.
So I got one of the "challenges" or whatever that has you "confuse the guitarist".
I played the same song twice in a row, of course I was fucking confused.
My local Best Buy claims to have the guitar in-stock (Henrietta, NY). I'll stop by shortly and pick one up. I'm always insanely picky about the calibration so it's a near must-buy for me anyway.

I'm already a fan of the Battle Of The Bands concept, even if my lack of talent keeps me from being the #1 guy on pretty much any of the lists.

In Rock Band 1, go to options, Export Songs. You have to buy a license, it costs $4.99 or 400 MS Points. Takes roughly ten minutes to do.
Just remember to go in and delete the songs you don't want afterwards. I got stuck with Seven and Dead On Arrival last night.
So hard. But so good.
